  1. Yeah I'd prefer that as well. We can all see that Bo's best days in the field appear to be behind him but I believe he's just reaching his offensive peak.
  2. I think I misread your post to mean that Bo could play through the injury vs potentially being able to return at some point in the season/post season.
  3. I seriously doubt that. Bo already displayed limited mobility in the field with two healthy legs, and I see no way he could perform up his capabilities at the plate either with a bum knee.
  4. Blue Jays beat reported Keegan Matheson reported the news. And it was IKF who made the quote about Bo's knee, not Gimenez.
  5. I think the lineup is just a lot scarier/deeper with Bo hitting in the cleanup spot. He was in the midst of one of his best stretches as a major leaguer as well when he hit the injured list so this is a huge loss for the team. Over his last 73 games leading up the injury Bo had produced a stellar 159 wRC/3.0 FWAR and his offensive contributions aren't going to be easily replaced. I don't agree that the front office wasn't interested in retaining Bo's services long term but it was going to require a foray into free agency to determine a fair market value contract.
  6. Adding fuel to the fire is a report that Bo is seeking a second opinion on his knee.
  7. If Santander can manage to get his left and right handed swings up to par before the end of the season he could be a candidate to hit 2nd.
  8. I think it's perfectly defensible that the team didn't want to assign Yesavage to a cold weather team in the spring of his first professional season.
  9. f*** this midget. I'm an Athletic subscriber and as the Jays didn't have a beat writer at that point Blue Jays fans were subject to a regular series of hatchet jobs from Rosenthal for the entire offseason. I seriously had it with his constant attempts to dunk on the organization at every opportunity.
  10. I believe this was largely precautionary in nature and Schneider wanted the pen to get a bit of work after several days off.
  11. If don't think it necessarily needs to be a recent IL stint to use Yesavage as an injury replacement. I believe that an older injury such as Yimi Garcia could be used in the petition to MLB but I'm not certain about this.
  12. This seems to largely be dependent on how he's feeling physically on his start day. Hopefully the back issue is behind him sufficiently to allow him to air out his pitches fully.
  13. Manoah is sitting at about 90-91 MPH with the heater his last few starts so I don't think he remotely warrants a look in the majors this season.
  14. Rogers has positively owned left handed hitters this season so it's best practice to leave most of them on the bench until later in the game.
  15. And this leaves some quality reinforcements on the bench for pinch hitting later in the game in Barger, Varsho and Lukes.
  16. I'm not so sure about that. If you examine Bellinger's 152/102 wRC+ home/away split it's clear that this season is largely a product of playing half of his games at Yankee Stadium.
  17. He should absolutely be called up at some point, but I do wonder what kind of role he's going to fill. The manager is pretty slow to build trust with his relievers before inserting them into leverage roles, and with the team playing so many close games there aren't likely going to be a ton of lower leverage spots for him to get his feet wet.
  18. I think Santander was likely healthy up until May 8 when he collided with the outfield wall in Anaheim and partially separated his shoulder. He was showing signs of coming out of his funk in approximately 10 days leading up to the injury but he was legitimately awful in the first month of the season. After finding out the severity of the injury he suffered it became instantly apparent that it was a massive mistake to let him try to play through the issue as he couldn't even swing the bat at full speed and he became a slap hitter without the hit tool to make that kind of profile work.
  19. Come on you should know very well it's complete folly to suggest that a major league team should call up a first year professional to MLB and should immediately insert him into the closer position. I think there's a really good shot he is called up before season's end as he's being transitioned into a bullpen role but there's little to no chance he's going to be closing games.
  20. I'm cool if he's a part time player but receiving 4-5 starts a week vs 1-2.
  21. Gausman has picked a really good time to rediscover his ace form. He's making a strong case right now to start game 1 in the playoffs ahead of Bieber.
  22. I hope and pray that IKF would be the odd man out but then the manager seems to be completely infatuated with the guy based on the best 4 month sample of his career that happened in a Blue Jays uniform a year ago.
  23. The first 2 games behind the plate were within a percentage point or so of the expected accuracy which is pretty decent for a replacement umpire. Her last game is certainly ugly though and if she wants to stick around she'll need to improve.
  24. I don't think Lopefido is completely a BABIP creation as he features an above average .324 xwOBA presently.
