David Peralta officially retired after not playing last season. Career slashline of .278/.335/.448 over parts of 11 seasons, winning one Silver slugger and one gold glove.
Peralta was originally signed by the Cards as a lefty pitcher, but was released at age 21 having never reached low A. He reinvented himself as a hitter, ended up raking Indie Ball, was signed by the D'Backs, and made his MLB debut the next season. Easily one of the best Indie League success stories ever
