  3. The A's really seem to have a knack for finding bats out of nowhere. Soon to be 29 year old career minor leaguer Carlos Cortes, with just 99 career PA (all last season) coming into the year, has been on absolute fire. He's slashing .377/.433/.689 with just four strikeouts in 67 PA, almost entirely going against righties. It will be interesting to see how he's deployed now that Rooker ( who had been struggling) is back from injury
  4. Nope but I did just see that David mentioned Moon will start his season with the FCL Blue Jays
  5. Hoglund has yet to pitch this spring, first dealing with a minor knee issue early in camp, now has been diagnosed with a spine injury.
  6. Coulombe is a pretty solid add for the BoSox at just 1M, they didn't have a proven lefty RP besides Chapman
  7. Let's all just take it Eazy-E, we don't need the Mercury rising too much
  8. One day you are going to nail an AiDS joke and it's going to be Magic
  9. Merryweather has managed to pitch just 158 big league innings since his debut in 2020, but 72 of those innings came in 2023.
  10. Here's the Sportsnet article referenced by MLBTR, some other roster related tidbits in there https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/blue-jays-have-plenty-to-watch-for-as-grapefruit-league-play-begins/
  11. https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2026/02/red-sox-depth-options-for-1b-limited-for-now-so-isiah-kiner-falefa-steps-up.html The Red Sox depth is taking a hit due to injuries and they are having IKF take reps at 1B
  12. Craig's son to the Astros
  13. It doesn't appear that he pitched anywhere in 2022 or 2023. Injured his shoulder in 2021 and resurfaced on a minor league deal with the Dodgers for 2024.

  15. The Kikuchi trade tree now overlaps with itself like a family tree down south
  16. Eloy looked like he was on his way to a JC comparison at one point, but not like this
  17. Schreck might be a hitter, and they had him playing more CF than anywhere else upon being called up to AAA, so that's interesting
  18. Pitchers are on a warpath early in ST, everyone is getting it on the hands
  19. Obviously we lose some major thump in the lineup but we also gain so much flexibility. Surely it helps our run prevention to not try and force one of Santander or Springer to play OF most of the time. Barger can have a more consistent every day spot in RF now that Okamoto should be taking over 3B. You never wish for an injury by any means but the lineup was built to absorb this. The same goes for the Bieber injury, in terms of having the depth to overcome - but I find that to be a more worrisome loss.
