Not the largest sample but Brad Keller in 17 innings of high leverage, held opponents to a slashline of .158/.273/.281.....which somehow resulted in 9ER

I haven't really looked closer at Brad Kellar's outstanding season under the hood but he has to be one of the most intriguing RP options remaining if the success is sustainable. From the left side, Sean Newcomb is also on that same vibe. Likely not going to cost as much as some of these proven high end relievers but he certainly was lights out as a RP last year.

We could sign Tucker for added punch and then fill the entire INF with gold glovers. I'm not sure why or if the Cubs even consider moving him but they haven't been the brightest org of late.

Hmm, is this a pretty steep price paid for a reliever (albeit a young flamethrowing lefty) or somewhat indicative of Ford having lost some prospect shine, perhaps due to his defense? Or I guess could be a bit of both. If teams aren't loving his defensive upside, at that point he's a bat first catcher who may not hit for a ton of power.

Also receive a young INF who can push for their opening at 2B. O's likewise add a much needed veteran innings eater and avoid spending aggressively in the soft FA market, in exchange for a prospect who at best wouldn't be in the back of the rotation mix until later in the season. Jays clear the bulk of Berrios commitment and swap Jimenez for a young SP prospect who can pitch his way into rotation depth consideration by late season or next.

Yeah it makes sense that the Sox see some sort of adjustment that could pull a breakout from Oviedo. He has that elite extension, can generate plenty of whiffs with his fastball and with two breaking pitches. There's definitely a path to becoming a mid rotation guy with big K totals.

Cost controlled back end starter with remaining upside (Oviedo) for a top 80-100ish prospect (Garcia)...I would have to look closer at the other three pieces

A record amount of hits in a WS is both a great accomplishment and a small sample not nearly enough to dictate whether someone should be starting. But my post clearly outlined that he would receive very regular playing time, just spread around the three positions as needed. His projections have him as a slightly below average bat which is in line with what he has done in 1404 career plate appearances. He really doesn't profile as a starting 3B or 2B bat despite the playoff heroics. I don't think it's disparaging in the slightest to want him in a utility role that could still have him playing nearly every day. As I've stated as have others, if the "starting" 2B/SS/3B are Bo/Gimenez/Barger...there would be plenty of room there for Clement to get his 400+ at bats

I feel like Ernie is best used as a utility guy who will still end up with 400+ PA for the reasons you stated. Between some short side platoon days against lefties, providing off days for 2B/SS/3B and filling those spots for any injuries, he'll still get his at bats. It's such a big luxury to have a cheap guy who is a legit player in that spot, as opposed to a defense first noodle bat.

Definitely move Berrios first, and hopefully one of the vets would sign here fairly cheap out of comfort and desire to win.

We don't at this point, but could at some juncture and would be glad to have a proven vet starter around over calling up a gas can. Bassitt has shown he can be an effective RP and provides the flexibility to fill innings as needed. Could turn out to be invaluable if we run into a couple injuries.
