  1. Seems like a weird move. If they wanted a cheaper short term placeholder, Ryan O'Hearn seems like a more natural stand in for Alonso.
  2. Chad Bradford walked for 235k so that Tyler Rogers could run to 37M
  3. I was trying to figure out based on the pitch tracking there, is he actually throwing a fastball and a slider at roughly the same speed? Or is that just his fastball movement sometimes registering as a slider due to his arm angle?
  4. Robert Charcuterie is not a Tyler Rogers fan
  5. Imagine you spend three at bats trying to get adjusted to Yesavage's release point, and then you get Tyler Rogers
  6. Fun fact: Chase Lee is not the son of five time Oscar nominated filmmaker Spike Lee
  7. Just saw that we grabbed Hedbert Perez in the minor league portion. Five years ago he looked like he was on his way to being an elite prospect
  8. High groundball rates play well for us
  9. Not the largest sample but Brad Keller in 17 innings of high leverage, held opponents to a slashline of .158/.273/.281.....which somehow resulted in 9ER
  10. I haven't really looked closer at Brad Kellar's outstanding season under the hood but he has to be one of the most intriguing RP options remaining if the success is sustainable. From the left side, Sean Newcomb is also on that same vibe. Likely not going to cost as much as some of these proven high end relievers but he certainly was lights out as a RP last year.
  11. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/nico-hoerner-drawing-trade-interest.html Often these rumors are carry little to no weight, but Hoerner is an interesting name to see out there simply because he's such a Blue Jays style player. We could sign Tucker for added punch and then fill the entire INF with gold glovers. I'm not sure why or if the Cubs even consider moving him but they haven't been the brightest org of late.
  12. Pete was killing it last year until he got injured
  13. Like I said in my previous post, maybe it speaks to Ford being less valuable around the league than he is perceived by scouting services. Surely they've been shopping him around since he's completely blocked by Raleigh
  14. Four years of team control as well
  15. Hmm, is this a pretty steep price paid for a reliever (albeit a young flamethrowing lefty) or somewhat indicative of Ford having lost some prospect shine, perhaps due to his defense? Or I guess could be a bit of both. If teams aren't loving his defensive upside, at that point he's a bat first catcher who may not hit for a ton of power.
  16. Bob at it again, the original tweet had the salary (22M) and everything. Edited after Passan shut it down as not close
  17. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/as-not-inclined-to-move-luis-severino-solely-for-salary-relief.html To Oakland - Jose Berrios + Leo Jimenez To Baltimore - Luis Severino + cash (from Toronto) To Toronto - Nestor German (SP prospect from Baltimore) + lottery ticket prospect(s) A's swap out a veteran SP who needs to be moved, in exchange for another much needed veteran SP. Also receive a young INF who can push for their opening at 2B. O's likewise add a much needed veteran innings eater and avoid spending aggressively in the soft FA market, in exchange for a prospect who at best wouldn't be in the back of the rotation mix until later in the season. Jays clear the bulk of Berrios commitment and swap Jimenez for a young SP prospect who can pitch his way into rotation depth consideration by late season or next.
  18. Curious to know, are there positive examples of these 1+1 rehab deals working out for a team? I suspect that Green would probably be a reasonable expectation for how those situations tend to go.
  19. I think you're incredibly sharp for your age Jim
  20. Birds are good, as long as they are blue
  21. Yeah it makes sense that the Sox see some sort of adjustment that could pull a breakout from Oviedo. He has that elite extension, can generate plenty of whiffs with his fastball and with two breaking pitches. There's definitely a path to becoming a mid rotation guy with big K totals.
  22. Cost controlled back end starter with remaining upside (Oviedo) for a top 80-100ish prospect (Garcia)...I would have to look closer at the other three pieces
