Whenever it's determined that he's healthy enough to pitch again, I would consider make him a second half/playoff pitcher. Hit exclusively in the first half as a DH, and multipurpose after the all-star break or maybe a bit sooner. Otherwise you can start him for all your home games and playoff games. That would give his arm sufficient rest throughout the season. I don't like the idea of making him a bullpen arm and don't even think making him a bullpen arm necessarily is healthier for him.

These things they happen. It sucks for baseball. I personally don't care about how much he makes, I have no stake in that and he's already made more than enough money to live comfortably for generations of his family so let's not overdo it and act like there's some sort of tragedy developing here. Definitely sucks for baseball though, I do feel bad for him from an individual talent perspective, great player and great ambassador of the game.

There is no such thing. It counts as one game, just like the other 161. It was lost. Try to win the series tomorrow and move on. If they win tomorrow it was a good 3 days in Baltimore.

Got to admit, I thought Belt might be washed. I didn't mind the signing because there was very little risk for not a lot of dollars but it clearly is coming up roses for us now.
