  1. Verdugo is an annoying ****, but he's right about Manoah. He needs to tone it down. On the one hand, Mahoah's piss and vinegar is part of his success as a pitcher, but on the other hand, it can become a problem if he doesn't cool it with the theatrics.
  2. That's the problem, it doesn't have the talent to be a WS contender. It'll be lucky to be a playoff team. That's on the FO, but I agree, the scapegoats will be sacrificed first. That's how it goes.
  3. Unless he just implodes and can't find the strike zone. Which there is a more than good chance could happen.
  4. That's pretty much the last thing anyone would have expected
  5. It's frightening that we have Varsho batting cleanup.
  6. I like kiermaier, as a 4th or 5th outfielder. Did they just forget they needed somebody better after they signed him?
  7. At least Chappy has been ripping pitches this year.
  8. Given the back three of our rotation, Pop's arm might fall off part way through the season
  9. Thank God the front office built some starting pitching depth that we can turn to if Berrios can't figure things out this year.
  10. Thank God we have Kikuchi to stop the bleeding tomorrow.
  11. Kiermaier, varsho, and belt. Three good reasons it'll be tough to hit on many days.
  12. If Berrios can keep from s***ing the bed the rest of the game we should be able to come back on this team.
  13. I wish we hadn't traded for varsho. I'll die on that hill.
  14. Don't be questioning the greatness of our front office or you'll get blocked by idiots on this board who think this rotation is a contender.
  15. I was told this is a championship caliber team so I assume that's good news?
  16. I don't even hate the Bassitt signing, although he should be the number five in our rotation not battling for number three. Cards are a tough team and it's early.
  17. I don't think I have to tell anybody that this team mashed right-handed pitchers the past couple of years, or that they struggled against lefties, everyone knows that. Heading lefties to the everyday lineup cannot possibly help that situation. That's self-evident. The fact that our rotation situation is basically the same is also self-evident. The fact that the bullpen has not been revamped outside of one arm is also self-evident, as is the fact that we still have no power lefty and a lack of straight gas in general. Our OF defense is definitely better, that's also self-evident. I just don't think it'll make up for the other weaknesses.
  18. Do you honestly think this is a championship caliber team?
