  1. Kirk has been hot, Schneider has been hot, Espinal has been hot. Jansen also was healthy for some of it. Quite frankly I'm not sure the lineup would have done much better with those guys in it. The hitting was mostly there. About as good as it's been all season quite frankly. So I can't accept this premise. 6-3 with the schedule we have coming up and the number of wins we still have to get is a thumbs down.
  2. The window does appear small, Max and Eovaldi are key. They need at least one of them this year, I'm not sure they're busted yet but if they are that's obviously trouble. DeGrom ever giving them anything worthwhile is obviously not very likely at this point. They can always just throw even more money at pitching during this window. There's no question they went for an expensive short-term solution, there's still a chance it will work granted it's slimmer than it was a month ago. But it's also not over yet. If the stars align just right and they get a world series championship out of it it will all be worth it.
  3. Recency bias galore right now for the Texas Rangers. Especially after that horrific Astros series. They aren't this bad, it's possible that they can't get this thing back on track, it's also possible that they come into Rogers center next week and smoke us and put in a strong finish to make the playoffs. Like you said, Max and Chapman might be playoff heroes yet.
  4. Actually 16 of 30 teams are either in a playoff spot currently or within a couple of games of playoff spot so literally most teams can say they are playing meaningful baseball. Also, 6-3 given the quality of competition that we faced f***ing sucks.
  5. It might still work for them. We can't just dismiss the incredible success they had throughout the year because of one terrible stretch. Keep in mind that they're still in it. They do have some young talent mixed in as well. They also still have a couple of years to make it happen after this one.
  6. That's a concern of mine. Not just if he can avoid swinging down and away outside of the zone but what does he do down and away in the zone? I don't think he's got enough juice in his bat to hit those in the air for extra base hits consistently, he's going to have to foul them off or rope line drives the other way. Dude appears to have squeezed so much out of his talent already, it seems unfair for us to expect much more out of him and yet I hope he keeps surprising.
  7. I'm more concerned about Belt. Stomach viruses can be a bitch and oftentimes you lose a little bit of weight and aren't quite the same for a little while after.
  8. Yeah but how did Judge get those meatballs? Because when he's on he has the ability to take incredibly close and very good pitchers pitches that are outside the zone and foul off pitchers pitches on the edges. That's what allows great hitters to be great hitters and wait for meatballs.
  9. I might watch one and a half games per season. It has to be the only thing on and I have to have absolutely nothing else that I feel like doing.
  10. Love the NFL. Been a big fan for years. I don't have a rooting interest in a specific team however so I'm never as invested as I am for something like baseball.
  11. They are who we thought they were. They don't sweep a lot of teams because they are consistently inconsistent. They aren't going to suddenly go through some metamorphosis in September and become something else.
  12. Vlad actually had a good game, was unlucky.
  13. It's remarkable to me that management allows three key players on the team to set this sort of standard for the organization. How do you just let them be fat asses and not address it?
  14. Please Oakland, no more 6 plus ERA pitchers. Have some mercy on us.
  15. No McClanahan, No Rasmussen, No Springs and the Rays still have Glasgow, Eflin and Civale throwing better than any trio that we can throw out there. f***ing savages.
  16. They aren't as good as Los Angeles or Atlanta but in a short series, they have the pieces to upset a great team.
  17. Imagine being picked up by a team in an effort to make a last-ditch effort at the division and immediately blowing their entire playoff hopes. It was a long shot anyway but Cleveland needed this sweep and Gio blew it in less than an hour's work.
  18. He's an elite arm and they desperately needed the bullpen help. They couldn't have expected to go on this horrible slide that they are on, it's still hard to imagine that they won't make the postseason, but if they ever did, if they have a healthy enough rotation they will be really dangerous.
  19. We traded Jeff Kent for a couple of months of David Cone. No regrets because we won a world series. If they win a world series it will be the same for them.
