  1. I never quite got this signing as they have a serviceable Mushroom and EE who could come in on a pinch at first base and so they sign Smoak for 3.9 but let Rever go @ 6.5 and now have try outs for LF. In other words they could of let Smoak go and put that money else where.....
  2. Seems like everyone forgets all those invitees .....
  3. Sounds minor and just probably a scope but foreshadowing of his age......
  4. Saunders was quoted that his knee is good and ready to go, which is probably the best news to date I have heard if true.....
  5. How much he is costing Rogers? Who was the old player development manager? This Indians of the North is getting old.....
  6. It appears the #5 spot is covered I feel so much better now.
  7. 5.074 Jose Bautista Josh Donaldson Russell Martin Edwin Encarnacion Troy Tulowitzki Chris Colabello Kevin Pillar Ryan Goins Michael Saunders Move Martin for Colabello, and if if if Saunders makes the cut also this could work till Travis comes back.
  8. This is my biggest concern with having Thole as backup. If Martin comes down with any prolonged injury over the season we have only a average defensive BC that can't hit.
  9. Oil hit 26 the other day and lots of predictions of $20/barrel going round. US surplus is bigger than they thought and they are exporting for the first time in 40 years. So oil is staying put for another year were the US wants it as its economy rolls along with cheap oil to help it out.........oh get used to the cheap Looney
  10. He maybe getting old and fielding ain't his strong suite but keep Joey Bats at least he comes to the game, maybe you guys forgot how Cepedis fielded for the Mets hemade Collebela look good. And for all you guys predicting the price of oil rebounding to fairy numbers in 2016 your nuts....here in Panama 0.62/lt premium gas and they import it all.....
  11. it doesn't lag behind its nothing at this point but I'll take it. now trade Dickey and his caddy.
  12. Revere LF Donaldson 3B Edwin DH Bautista LF Colabello 1B Tulo SS Pillar CF Martin C Goins 2B Hoping Edwin's surgery goes well or he could be out early. Smoak trades off with Colabello for LH pitching Barney possibly comes in for Goins Tulo gets it together Hoping Martin starts to hit Travis comes back in June/july to 2b and takes Pillar's spot in the batters line up Saunders doesn't see a game Leave the room when Thole hits for Martin
  13. Drainage of the turf is likely a issue to make it work.
  14. Going on last years effort I see Stroman and Estrada as the only locks with this rotation. No such thing as a lock with rest of this rotation the rest could easily switch around, and Hutch could put it together this year the only thing they all have in common is inconsistence. The only thing that will keep this rotation in the game is the offence at the plate and defence behind the mound.....I hope I am wrong
  15. The Oil sands are heavily subsidized by the federal government. Oil needs to be trading above $100/barrel for the oil sands to be profitable and it will be trading at that mark in the near future ( at least if you believe the Saudi's). obviously you know s*** ......2 years ago it heavy crude sold for $38 US/barrel (that was when the dollar was par and sweat crude was about $100 US/barrel) to the only refinery in the US that upgrades it. We are at a 75 cent dollar and $35 US/barrel and yes it is still reluctantly being shipped. There are no projections that have oil at $35 barrel long term. It's supposed to be back over $100 mid-2016. And the projections in 2014 were oil would to hit $65 by Aug. 2015! Sort of off the mark and the analogy could be like taking this forum as projected fact.
  16. looks like this bull pen is getting weaker as we go, Lowe to Detroit.......
  17. Thole is ....1) one of the worst nightmares at bat ....2) a waste of a seat on the roster .....3) and increases Dickeys cost to the team..... 4) useless as a backup catcher The only up side is it makes Dickey more palatable in a trade if you can throw in Thole........
  18. Nice reality check.....
  19. Agreed. The David Price cost would have been to much. However the disheartening feeling I am getting is that the Jays will not make a move on anyone of note to strengthen the SP. I think it is now becoming increasingly clear why they brought in Shapiro and more importantly why AA left. I don't think they have any intention of making a winning ball team as a .500 team will generate enough revenue for their needs. I am so hoping I am wrong.
  20. Between the 2 starters 16 mill in 2017 and they are at best number 3's and we gave up a strong bull pen arm. I hope this is not a repeat of what Shitpero did to the Indians. I guess we will find out shortly as aces like Zimmerman are starting to sign.......
  21. Using states when they suit you is what a agent does....62 inning pitched! They finally sent Saunders home and you and this forum want to move Revere? I guess no one remembers 2015 early season hopefuls in right field, I can't count them all. He's a leadoff hitter that makes good contact. I guess the next thing I will hear again and again is put Pompey in right. ....the only thing that makes sence is move Dickey and Thole....
  22. Your point is well taken that the cost is high but that contracted player when signed and resides in Toronto for 6 months is making 30% on his expenses so actually Estrada is pretty smart.
  23. Like this post. The only stipulation I would add is Navarro go on Jenny Craig before I sign him.
