  1. At present EE will be gone. They blew contract talks this year with him and there are other will to pay big for him. On the other hand if during the pennant run he goes on a big tear and I mean big the fans might demand him back. I see Atkins/Shapiro moveable by public outcry. Batista is interesting in that his value has substantially shrunk over a long term contract so on the outside I could see him sign a short one year deal if he thought he could reverse some of his physical problems in the off season......
  2. Shapiro/Atkins Morales D- Floyd D Hendricks for Chavez D Not resigning Chubby D and then going out picking up the rest of his contract in Aug. Signing Storen D Storen for Benoit A+ Biagini rule Five A+++ Grilli A+++ Me thinks LaCava gets credit for input on Happ and Estrada
  3. Is the game in Tampa going to get off today with all the bad weather, and yes I know it is covered......
  4. Get by Boston and come Oct the pen Osuna Grilli Biagini Benoit Feldman Cecil for one then sit him down possibly Liriano see how Sept goes Sept is the second try outs so who knows about Barns The rest can sit down including Loup
  5. Marco doesn't need a personal catcher. GTFO. Marco needs an elite framer not a shitbag behind the plate. Your a Moron.....
  6. I was sitting on the fence whether Benoit was for real but I was impressed with him the last time he was up and this outing sold me. Benoit was cool even when he got ripped for the 3rd strike out by the umpire.....Make that 3 good FO signings......
  7. The brace on his knee worries me that the injury is not a sprain but a tear......
  8. It would be interesting if they plan on using him with Estrada as they are bringing him back in Baltimore with Estrada pitching the first game.....Thole tonight gets 3 hits.....
  9. The infield looked weak in particular these last two games against the twins. Letting the Twins score 7 runs a game tells you something is a miss or maybe its a blimp and I need some Ativan. Mid relief just Sux. Grilli is a hero every time he gets on the mound and arguably the best contract this FO signed. Odds makers have the Jays at best finishing their season in the ALCS finals.....prove them wrong...
  10. So apparently we still need left handed relief........
  11. Your sentence construction is poor it should have read ....he's a much better defensive player than Travis....
  12. Not yet. No left hander in the bull pen worth sending out in high leverage situations in the 7th.
  13. This whole topic is really beyond me. Can't believe no one from this forum has brought in stats like percentage of players contracting STD's in the first half of the season verses second half, is there any relationship between STD and hitting averages....and the fans doing Clap-Clap-Clap takes on a new meaning......what a lame group
  14. Take a deep breath. Votto would make for a very interesting lineup addition for sure. Though I like it I don't see a Votto deal as Atkins/Sapiro signed Smoak for about 1/2 the cost per year of Votto, and Smoak is keeping the bench warm while they hope for the stars to realign for him. Add to this the FO haven't seriously attempted to sign any of their high end franchise players this spring and in all seriousness will likely loose them to FA. In July they didn't signed any for sure relief help. This front office would rather play the slot machines of buy cheap and hope for the stars to realign which has admittedly worked with Grilli, maybe Benoit/Liriano but not so much with Morales, Chavez........Votto isn't in the equation...this FO is to cheap and love to play the penny slots
  15. Out field should look a little better......
  16. Liriano was better than OK for 6 innings and mid relief showed they could hold it which really was a big positive. Defence/plus hitting is showing up tonight and next Tue. Pillar is supposed to be back. The only question is when JB will be back?.........
  17. Is Donaldson going to play today or is he still injured/sulking ........Goins coming up
  18. I think we have one great potential gold glove outfielder injured and a very good potential DH coming back. I think Carrera has much more up side in the field and on the bases and if he is 100% they would be a miss if they wouldn't utilize him more at least as a platoon player with JB.
  19. ?Morales.....
  20. Has there been anything official on JB's knee in regards to what kind of injury he sustained? JB has had a disappointing year and if the jays would have had him in the line up and hitting 25-30HR we probably would be walking away with this division. It would be nice to see the FO make a serious creative offer to keep him here even if it was for one year or two at a time. This guy still can contribute. ..........
  21. First I don't even want Smoak as a backup at first base on a contending team and if you don't think his calibre of hitter at first baseman could not of been found in the off season you need help. Even Goins has a comparable batting average and at least has a defensive up side. Also the 4mill/year they could have been put towards a EE contract. This management team seems to think signing EE was a extravagance they could not afford and insulted him by offering him originally a one year contract. A 40 HR/year hitter that plays more than passable first base.......you don't want aggressively sign?.......
  22. This is when they got hot last year but it doesn't look that way just yet.
  23. I think everyone can agree that Smoak sits out. For me its not ideal but Upton or Barnes in the field and Batista DH......
