  1. I think this trade shows two things; -The front office is starting to use the prospect capital they have accumulated to improve the on-field team -The front office is willing to spend more like they said they would once the team started to enter it's competitive window. In the end this is most likely a nothing transaction but I like that they are following up on their commitments to invest in some potential rather than just hoping that the prospects would come through. The analytics team must see something in Matz enough to get them to make the deal?
  2. A few things came into clarity from this signing... -with the Ryu signing it shows the jays are not afraid to invest in high priced talent -the speculation that that Rogers and the Jays were only looking for bargains is false -it appears the front office is willing to move on from or bury contracts in AAA or trade them is possible or even highly likely This is an exciting addition for the Jays. It will be interesting to see where they slot Springer in the lineup. It is a solid lineup plus there are 6 top 100 prospects in the system? There have been a few questionable decisions from the front office but if any Jays fan went back 5 years and asked what the best case scenario was this would be close to it. Quit yer bitchin bitches.
  3. I don't post here a lot but after reading a few posts in this thread I think there is a myopic trend. There are discussions about free agent player A and player B signing for multiple years with other teams and the Blue not signing them. If 4-6 year offers are what it takes to land these guys, why would they do it if they think their internal options MIGHT produce the same or similar results within a year or two? Groshan, Martins etc have a good chance to out-produce whomever they sign in year 2+. Unless the payers they are after sign for 2-3 years I am ok with them leaving the team as is. Realistically, what position on the team can anyone say is solid for 2+ years? LF? Everywhere else should be up for competition.
  4. I am going to miss watching the Jays in Buffalo. That stadium is growing on me.
  5. At least if the Jay's play in Pittsburgh we won't have to come up with a new Canadian motto. We ARRRR the North works right?
  6. I know some of you are bored but jeebus F-ing Chryst stop the bitchfest back and forth ******** pissing war. Use PM's f***ers. I am guessing that most of us don't care about your back and forth mortality rate pissing match. When most of the replies for each of your posts are just the two of you grandstanding then NO ONE ELSE f***ing cares. (nothing personal...lol)
  7. I believe in him!
  8. True that. Should be 6 tools with the head as the most important.
  9. He seems like he just gets in his own head too much and overthinks what he's doing instead of just playing the game. The pressure of being out of options and needing to make the team is playing with his confidence. At this point it looks like he will be cut and have to sign a MiLB contract with another team.
  10. Ageist...when will the prejudice end?
  11. Part of me likes Kirk but part of me feels it is just lazy and disrespectful to not honor the process of being an MLB player. Like seriously...do some sprints, eat right and show some understanding that you were blessed with talent and need to put the f***ing reps in. The organization showed faith in you...put down the bag of jellybeans and go get some exercise.
  12. That is good to hear. Glad I misunderstood the article I read.
  13. So they are blacking out the entire country? That's absurd...like I am going to buy tickets when I live in Victoria. Such horse s***...
  14. Dang...Kirk needs to lose some weight...that was way closer than it should have been.
  15. Nice AB from Tellez
  16. ...dafuq?... If the dude literally got arrested for it it is clearly not "just an opinion". Am I missing something or feeding the trolls...I never know on here...
  17. I always wonder why these things often happen right before spring-training.
  18. That is quite the transformation so far for Vlad. Congrats to him for putting in the work! Very impressive.
  19. Can we close all the 2019 threads and make new threads for the upcoming year now please? Yay I would love for this board to be more topic specific with new threads as well. No need for a thread several thousand replies long. Just my 2 cents...(and I am 100% correct in case anyone was curious...)
  20. It almost looks like Fisher is scared of the ball sometimes.
  21. More like he has what I like about SRF and Sanchez imo. I see less "ifs" with him so I am more hopeful.
  22. lol. In logged in and was like "why the hell are there 25 posts already?"...now I know why.
  23. Not sure if you are joking but I would be fine with this. We know our pitching sucks, we don't know if our young hitters can handle major league pitching. If we see that the next gen of hitters can mash we can be more confident that the team might be good when the Pearsons/Pardihno's etc are ready.
