I don't post here a lot but after reading a few posts in this thread I think there is a myopic trend. There are discussions about free agent player A and player B signing for multiple years with other teams and the Blue not signing them. If 4-6 year offers are what it takes to land these guys, why would they do it if they think their internal options MIGHT produce the same or similar results within a year or two? Groshan, Martins etc have a good chance to out-produce whomever they sign in year 2+. Unless the payers they are after sign for 2-3 years I am ok with them leaving the team as is. Realistically, what position on the team can anyone say is solid for 2+ years? LF? Everywhere else should be up for competition.
