  1. Nice to hear about Santana spending time with the young pitchers.
  2. Osuna's first rough outing. Seemed like he was trying too hard. If Martin had been catching him I think he might have fared better and settled in but who knows...
  3. Came here to post the same thing. I can't wait until he is off the roster. Not adding any value as of right now.
  4. Hynes looked good but it seemed so anticlimactic after Osuna/Castro....
  5. Damn Castro.....slider, breaking ball and a 97mph heater. Wow...
  6. This is a really tough call. There is reason to be very optimistic about all of these players with the way ST has progressed. It seems crazy based on how last year ended but I actually am afraid of Sanchez not living up to expectations more than any of the others. (realizing that he has more expectations than the rest) Not saying he won't perform as well as some of the others, I just think that the rest have the chance to outperform expectations. Castro could become a dominant late innings bp arm. Pompey could hit for avg and dazzle with his speed in the field and on the bases. Norris could use 3 plus pitches to have a Stromanesque breakout season. Travis could play a respectable 2b and move up the line up with his bat. Hell, you could even ad Osuna to the mix with how composed he has looked on the mound. My vote was for Pompey with Norris a close second.
  7. We have had a lot of outs at the plate this spring...
  8. Should we be worried about Martin hitting .160 this spring so far?
  9. I thought Dickey would come out of the game at that point rather than bat.
  10. Holy freakin jeezuz if our young pitchers reach their potential.... (or even just half of the top 8!) What does the BJ's starting rotation look like in 2 or 3 years with Stroman, Sanchez, Castro, Hoffman, Norris, Hutch and Osuna all looking like (so far granted) they may actually live up to their potential? All of them project to be top 3 pitchers in the rotation so even if 3 or 4 pan out you have a hell of an inexpensive group of starters to work from. Maybe a bit of premature excitement but I am pretty excited to see where this group of young talent takes this team in the next few years. I can almost see the Jays becoming the opposite of where they are now in terms of pitching vs hitting in a few years when Jose and EE etc are gone.
  11. Looked like last years Pillar at bat there.
  12. Back to back jacks...oh noes...
  13. Apparently pitched very well in winter league for what it's worth.
  14. He was just settling into a rhythm with his new pitch arsenal, I wonder how a year off without throwing will affect him? I really hope this long break doesn't mess with his mechanics too bad.
  15. I think I saw that last pitch sequence in Bull Durham
  16. In a few days this will be news, today it is not.
  17. Man I wish Goins could hit.....sigh
  18. Not sure who Gindl is but I don't like him anymore.
  19. Travis showing some nerves perhaps. Nice arm though.
  20. Just keep running Thole....you will reach Buffalo in about a week..
  21. Delabar, Drabek and Lopez all looked pretty good. My only hope this game is that a couple arms in the bp look good.
  22. What are the chances that this really is a Buffalo signing? It doesn't seem like AA would go after this type of player if he thought that the player would have no chance at the Jays roster does it? If we assume that he has a chance at being on the 25 man roster then what type of trade would need to happen before he makes it? Who would need to go before this guy has a chance to see PA's in Toronto? Is this signing and the Santana one just so he can say he was busy trying to improve the club? I read here a lot but don't post much because I am not as knowledgeable as most of you. This move I just can't figure out. Cheers guys.
  23. Hello all. New to the forum... I wish there was something I could sacrifice to the baseball gods to make sure he doesn't get hurt in the near future. Insane comps..
