    That was a hell of a game by Gausman. A Jack Morris dig deep and just get the f***ing win type game. All of our starters have that mentality regardless of their age. That's a team I can root for

    Agreed. His stuff is plus. He went from a catcher to a pitcher and then had some injury issues but he looks like his stuff plays. He seems like a player you roll the dice on instead of cutting loose given the voodoo volitivity of relievers. A cheap limited risk guy.

    Sucks we lost Danner. I liked him and hoped he got a chance with the big league team. From a catching prospect to pitching was an interesting back-story to keep an eye on.

    I think they are more than likely in pursuit of trades like the Gimenez one. Target a good player a small market team can't afford anymore and try to give up as little as they can to do it. The best value seems to be in the glove side of attaining WAR. Same crap they tried last year.

    A huge part of this regimes failures are due to the fact they pretty much staited that they would need to have cost controlled talent making progress at this point. The last 5 drafts ha had minimal impact on the mlb roster.

    I will jokingly point that I full on said that I was on the ML's page and was only interested in the Blue jays talk. I give negative zero ****s about your hockey team and your opinions on it. 🤣😇 We can talk baseball. A lot of the focus on where the team is at in its competition cycle has focused on the players that are aging and might not perform to their contracts. The biggest failure of this regime is the talent pipeline that was insinuated after investing in the Dunedin complex. We drafted a **** ton of players that were supposedly going to flood the minors with talent that would supplant the dudes on the roster that were nearing the end of their contracts. Over-paid hits the bench, new talent hits the field. This is where the plan failed for Ross and crew. The changes in mgmt this off-season have not significantly reflected the failures of the succession plan implemented 3 or 4 years ago.

    I am on HFBoards a lot for hockey and recognized the poster from the Blue Jays on the Maple Leafs forum. I was just curious tbh. The Jays chat on that site is pretty good actually, even though it's a hockey site there are a ton of sub forum chats.

    This season was pretty much a s*** show but the weirdest part of all of this is that JOEY VOTTO spent most of the season in the Jay's minor league system. Dafuq? Every time I read about my brain hurt...

    Tonight's Jay's game was the most Jaysiest game that's ever been Jay'd. Some great plays and some total clownshow s***. The perfect encapsulation of the season in one game.

    I remember seeing Manoah in the dugout during a game a week or so back. Has Bo been in the dugout at all since he has been injured? I don't recall seeing him or having the commentators point him out.

    Still seems insane that they got nothing for Ohtani...and that they will get nothing for Trout. Mind boggling...imagine the Rays in those situations?

    It feels more like I watching a team that a few guys I know got traded to. 2/3 of the roster I don't really know at this point.

    If this trade is as advertised then I assume there might be a bit more evidence from the Astros world series win that hasn't found it's way to the media...and there might be a chance that Click has it. Based on the media's response (and all of you of course), then this is an unbelievable return for 2 months of Kikuchi.

    With the Pearson trade it looks like the FO is willing to shed salary for future seasons as well. Aren't they within 10-20 mill of being under the threshold?

    "Trade for the sake of trading expiring contracts". I believe many were suggesting that getting under the salary cap penalty this year was a primary reason for trading expiring contracts so the team didn't accrue the multiple years exceeding the cap accumulative % penalty.

    It would be interesting to see the profit/attendance numbers for a 2025 season that has 5,000 less fans per game at regular season prices vs 2+ playoff games in 2026 at post-season prices. The 2026 playoffs are no guarantee obviously but it makes me wonder how far into that type of prognosis they get. Love to be a fly on the wall for those meetings.

You should really start your own 'super smart 'baseball chat forum. We would all miss you horribly but you can't slow progress. You are meant for better things.

    And Troltin Joe makes it to the ignore list in record time... Regarding the deadline, at this point I would seriously consider sending Bichette home for the year. Let him heal up with all the time he needs and also help retain whatever trade value he has for the off-season. Plus, if he is not happy I wouldn't want him being a malcontent around the newer/younger players. Plus, plus, it kinda sends a message that if you don't want to be here then we don't want you to be here.
