  1. Hi R.A. They wanted Stroman to pitch game 5. So they saved their runner-up-for-the-Cy-Young-Award-hired-gun-Ace the embarrassment of riding pine in favour of a kid in the big one by rendering the "#1" unavailable to start. (Plus, no leads safe in that bandbox.)
  2. After any tough loss, practically every team's message board (or blog) has a number of whiny geeks calling for their manager's head. It's pretty much universal, so guess that means managers across baseball sure are responsible for a lot of their team's losses ...
  3. who gives a f*** what his replay record is? when has he not been granted a review because he had already used up his challenge? would you rather have a manager with one of the lowest number of challenges in the game?
  4. With league leading attendance and probably another playoff appearance, i'd be surprised if they don't strike while the iron is hot and jack up prices across the board.
  5. Per Game Price 200 Level Infield: $66 Field Level Infield: $66 200 Level Bases: $49.50 Field Level Bases: $49.50 100 Level Outfield: $33.50 200 Level Outfield: $30.50 500 Level: NA
  6. yup, along with Bochy, Maddon, Francona & Showalter . . .

  8. all the time that you guys spend thinking about and discussing baseball and ya don't have MLBTV?
  9. give Alex the Order of Canada for the excitement that he created for Blue Jays baseball from coast to coast to coast (and among Canadians abroad.)
  10. I'll still happily take that World Series. Every (non-Canadian) baseball fan and casual sports fan in the world rooting for the lovable Cubbies. (Not to mention Fox.) Makes a Blue Jays championship that much sweeter.
  11. Let's hope the Yankees sweep the 'Stros and give their brass second thoughts of selling before the deadline. It ain't really a party in the AL East without meaningful games (for both teams) against NY.
  12. yeah but if the Yankees are in true sell mode, then Miller could very well be gone too (since he'd probably bring back more than Chapman.)
  13. I'd rather the Yankees keep Chapman. NY has more games left against Boston & Baltimore than Toronto.
  14. I don't mind Harper becoming a Yankee, and (as a STH) seeing him playing at the Dome 9-10 times a year in his prime. I just don't want Trout ever donning NY pinstripes haha.
  15. yeah, and the two most significant off season moves - signing Estrada & Happ - happened while LaCava was the interim GM.
  16. maybe Shapiro doesn't like sell out crowds and thru the roof tv ratings?
  17. well, Price did last year with the scooters and robes.
  18. don't think anybody would've thought that Bautista would be cool with leading off, let alone suggesting it himself.
  19. I'm not saying Shapiro's bad, but the 2016 Jays are Alex's team.
  20. Alex gave a departing gift to Rogers of a guaranteed slam dunk 3 M attendance, and how many are coming to see Drew Storen pitch?
  21. when the Jays repeat as division champs, does Alex repeat as executive of the year?
  22. yes, Alex has packed 'em in, and credit Beeston for one big thing ... bringing back the blue to the Blue Jays with a logo that never should be changed again.
  23. Kubek was the colour guy with Don Chevrier for many seasons on CTV telecasts and later Tony and Fergie Olver(haha) did Jays games on TSN.
  24. yeah, the Blue Jays were lucky to have him for their first dozen years.
