  1. Yes, it'll be interesting to see dynamic pricing in action when the Jays eventually return to being a .500 club with some of its beloved stars gone ... But for this season, it must be pretty slim pickings for tickets ... there's probably only a decent inventory for the mid-week series against the White Sox (in April) ... the Rangers & Rays (in May) ... and the Phillies, Diamondbacks & Padres (in the summer.) Last year, the Jays drew crowds larger than 40,000 for 36 games (and 27 of those were over 45,000!) ... and, yeah, while there won't be a repeat of last year's trade deadline hysteria whipping up the fanbase (unless Edwin and/or Bautisa are dealt), it won't be necessary to fill the place given that the Jays apparently have almost doubled the number of season tickets and flex packs sold.
  2. Of course haha. Everything's gotta play itself out. Nothing is etched in stone. I'm not one of their confidantes. But Shapiro did speak pretty frankly tho about various matters. (Atkins not so much.)
  3. Yes, i've spoken to both of them. And that's why I don't expect Sanchez to start the season in Buffalo. (But a s***** ST could shake things up.)
  4. yeah, I could see Estrada getting the honour as well. if they believe in the Dickey effect, and Sanchez is in the rotation, I can see them wanting Aaron to be the beneficiary of that.
  5. I'd be shocked if Sanchez didn't break camp with the big club.
  6. so you think Stroman starts the season opener on Sunday in TB and the home opener on Friday? I think they give Stroman the extra day's rest during the first week (it's a long season) and he starts Sat against Boston.
  7. ... not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things. Jays begin with 4 games in Tampa ... and then have Thurs off ... with the home opener on Fri. will they simply send out who they think is their 5th best starter? then who do you think that will be? or will they tweak the order somewhat (out of the gate) to take into account the "honour" of starting in that electric home atmosphere?
  8. how many other managers would've plugged Tulo into the leadoff spot? how many other managers would've moved Donaldson from 5th to 2nd after one week of the season ... and even let JD leadoff 7 games? and so I doubt Gibbons is yearning for Omar (the Out Maker) Moreno.
  9. One underrated perk of season tickets is the STH-only gate. Many times last season, we'd show up 10 minutes before game time and walk right into the stadium when there were looong lines at the other gates. And on the popular giveaway days, the line at the STH-only gate was tiny compared to the others. (But with so many new STHs this year, the differences won't be as drastic.)
  10. Yeah, depends on whether you're going to all the high demand 40,000+ crowd games yourself and you're dumping (say) the mid-week Rays tickets in May. My wife & I have season tickets and go to a shitload of games. But I imagine most STHs attend about 30 games ... there are 26 home series ... so one game each series plus perhaps a couple when the Yankees & Red Sox roll into town. Most STHs have ticket partners who they divvy up their seats with, before the start of the season. If the seats are not that good, I wouldn't buy season tickets with the plan to turn to Stubhub to sell 50 games. I'd have a ticket partner or two lined up who'll take half the games from me at the outset.
  11. yeah, Shapiro probably is "perfectly content qualifying them both and getting 2 draft picks" (which may be smart baseball-wise) but since Alex has gifted him a slam dunk 3 million home attendance figure this season ... and with Edwin being beloved ... and Bautista being a Blue Jays icon ... Shapiro might be mindful of the possibility of attendance crashing under his watch and being run out of town by an angry passionate mob.
  12. 2-3-4 isn't going to change and so i'd let Tulo choose between 1 or 5. I prefer him leading off but it he feels more comfortable batting 5th, then opening day vs. Archer: 1. Martin 2. Donaldson 3. Bautista 4. Edwin 5. Tulo 6. Smoak (Cola will get his ABs too) 7. Saunders 8. Pillar 9. Goins
  13. since it seems like you want more than a handful of games, a 10 game flex pack didn't interest you? (or you're only doing 500 level?)
  14. not to mention how many more flex packs have been sold for this season? the increased STH base was a parting "gift" that Alex left Rogers and Shapiro.
  15. probably because baseball wasn't meant to be played on concrete ... stickball? yeah ... but MLB?
  16. yeah, Stephen Brooks said that the Jays have more new STHs than any other club. with attendance looking to be thru the roof this season (thanks to Alex,) puts pressure on Shapiro not to have a big dropoff of fannies in seats next year under his reign.
  17. yeah,, the yahoos love the home opener for sure, but this time at least half of the crowd will be filled with season ticket & flex pack holders ... then home games 2 & 3 ... Sat & Sun vs Red Sox (with Price probably pitching Sunday) ... will be slim pickings ticket-wise ... then the Yankees come in ... so should be a hoppin' first homestand.
  18. any STH on here have luck scoring an extra pair today? I tried this morning without success. Looks like there were very few tix put up for grabs in the pre-sale.
  19. Then goodbye all the new season ticket holders who were out in pretty strong force on Thursday night.
  20. looks like i'll have an extra ticket to the event on Thursday, pm me if you want it.
  21. it's all of the promotional giveaways for the season (bobbleheads, shirts etc.)
  22. gone now. funny that ... after 22 years without playoff baseball in Toronto ... and coming off the most exciting home game since '93 ... and with the Stroshow on tap for tonight ... it took awhile to sell this half decent pair at cost. didn't try stubhub tho.
  23. i'm selling a pair for tonight's game (a couple of rows behind the Royals bullpen) for cost. pm me if interested.
  24. wonder how many KC fans are making the trek to T.O.? whether that # is very big or small would affect the secondary market. (but Royals fans probably are saving up their travelling funds for a hopeful Fall Classic trip to NY or Chicago)
  25. when you say that you sold your tickets for "$196 american each," you're saying that's what you listed them for, right? stubhub deducts a 10% fee from the seller, don't they?
