it's my first full season with mlbtv and so i've been listening to our opponents' tv commentators doing Jays games, and i've enjoyed San Frans crew of Kuiper & Krakow the most.
hopefully Saunders seizes the opportunity and puts the leadoff issue to rest ...
(except against tough lefties ... and until at least Travis is ready to roll.)
Same thing has been said before ... "Will never win with Gibby."
hahaha
(You'd think fans would learn about the impact of managers on already playoff bound teams.)
How 'bout they keep him and they'll be in the playoffs again.
that was exactly my point with "So Alex set Shapiro up pretty nicely (haha.)"
impeccable timing on the part of AA:
* brings real Blue Jays fever back to Toronto (& all of Canada) by ending the 22 year playoff drought (check)
* has fans serenading him with chants of "Thank you, Alex!" in Baltimore (check)
* named MLB Executive of the year (check)
* hands over a slam dunk 3M home attendance this season (check)
while leaving Shapiro with a diminished farm and to take whatever heat (justified or not) for Price departing for a record contract ... and beloved Edwin & Joey on the cusp of free agency ... etc.
Alex is laughing his ass off.
... if the Jays win in 2016, it's "AA's team" and he will be given the credit.
... and if the Jays fall back over the next few years and attendance (and interest) suffers, Alex will be welcomed back as the Canadian saviour (if he isn't already Montreal's GM by that time.)
Alex's parting gift to Rogers was doubling the number of season tickets and flex packs sold this season. So Alex set Shapiro up pretty nicely (haha) and it'll be interesting to see what happens to attendance on his watch ...
for Gibbons to be handed an extension next winter then i'd guess that the Jays have to go at least as far as they did last season (to game 6 of the ALCS) ... anything less could be viewed as a disappointing result (for those looking for one.)
Well, I bought MLBTV today and also bought Chromecast at Best Buy. Works perfectly for me. Just gonna need more monthly internet now haha. Approximately how many GBs is a 3 hour baseball game?
Please pardon my stupidity, but you're suggesting I should simply connect my iPad directly to my TV by using an HDMI adapter and so there's no need for (or benefit of) Chromecast or Roku to watch MLBTV?
Last year, I watched MLBTV on my ipad and it was great. This year i'd like to stream the baseball games to a TV for the bigger screen. (I don't have cable.) Excuse my ignorance ... is the easiest (and cheapest) way to do this simply to buy chromecast? Is the ipad--chromecast--tv streaming a recommended glitch-free way to go?
what do you think qualifies as "not in it" in 2016?
below .500 or 10 games back, with a s***** run differential?
on July 29 (as we know), Jays were .500, 3rd in the East, and 7 games back (8 in loss column.)
If the Jays win this year, Alex will be given the credit. And since Shapiro wants a little love too, he's hoping that Bruce can hit a walk off in a playoff game.
