  1. C'mon. His fastball isn't 84. He's never have been called back up...if true - that's insane.
  2. Expectations. Most expected us to suck last year coming off an abysmal 2024.
  3. Brutal. F*ck Apple, f*ck Tim Cook. Too bad that plane didn't crash on Wednesday.
  4. USA Today’s Josh Peter reported that Dodgers’ closer Edwin Díaz and Kentucky Derby winning jockeys Jose Ortiz and Irad Ortiz Jr. are “linked to cockfighting events in Puerto Rico.” Peter reported that social media posts show Díaz and the Ortiz brothers posing for photos advertising the cockfighting tournaments. Díaz appears in his Dodgers jersey in one of the photographs, and one of the advertisements specifically says one of the tournaments is “A Tribute to the Puerto Rican Star and Cockfighter Edwin ‘Sugar’ Díaz.” There’s another story from March 10th, which shows Díaz in the middle of a cockfighting arena. While cockfighting is historic and culturally significant in Puerto Rico, a federal ban on cockfighting in all 50 states and U.S. territories took effect in 2019. Neither Díaz nor the Dodgers has commented on the report, and there is no indication right now whether the reliever, who is on the injured list after elbow surgery, will face any sort of consequences. ----------------- This isn't a great look.
  5. Oh yeah - that makes sense too.
  6. Oh yeah - that's true to some extent, but he's only making $18M per year for 3 years. It's not some $150M / 6 year disaster contract. It sucks though. Perhaps it's a glimpse of why teams were cautious with Murakami.
  7. What. What is Teo doing? Did he think it was a foul ball?
  8. Just gotta hope he gets healthy and finds his form. Maybe the slightly larger ball is effecting him? It's similar for the Dodgers with Roki. Options are limited. It's alarming how poor of a start Houston is off to.
  9. They are only there for historic reasons and to avoid the backlash from old and casual fans. That's the reason. It rarely, if ever, tell us anything about performance for all the reasons you pointed out. I can hear people now saying they can't watch baseball anymore because they've completely changed the game and blah, blah, blah. Same idiots who complained when they took away takeout slides and implemented the pitch counts. I love baseball stats a lot more than most - but they should just scrap it altogether. It's worse to carry on with a known mistake simply because you don't want to upset the apple cart.
  10. Just remove pitching wins and loses altogether. They have always been stupid and unnecessary. Should Varsho get a "win" because he hit the walk off HR last night? No - no he should not. Teams get wins and loses, players do not. They should remove them from goalie stats in hockey as well.
  11. Ohtani is going to take a break from winning MVP and capture his first Cy Young instead...
  12. No he shouldn't. He's a ML pitcher who's giving up free bases like their candy on Halloween. It's embarrassing. If he can't hold a runner and pitch, than quit baseball.
  13. Or else what? We'll finish 5th instead of 4th?
  14. That's the season in a nutshell. Foul ball off the noggin.
  15. It's 2026 Spank. They literally f*ck everything up.
  16. This may go down as the most disappointing team in Blue Jays history. Do something. Fire Schneider, Fire Popkins (even if they don't deserve it). Send a message.
  17. I don't think you can draw any conclusions from it.
  18. Doesn't matter. He's already in scoring position. I want him scoring if that ball gets down. He must want to go back to Japan. He probably chirps these losers in Japanese under his breath.
  19. Yes - exactly. Hoffman's due to stab us in the heart again isn't he?
  20. I think we're due for a blown save. Coming off stressful, long innings last night - it seems like a recipe for it to happen.
  21. This season isn't fun at all. How's the 2027 draft? Hopefully it's stacked! Need something to look forward to.
  22. He's hitting .162 with a 33 wRC+ v. LHP this year. That's probably good for 4th best on the team, so my guess is he's wore out from jogging around the bases twice. It's a long way to go for people who haven't done it much this year.
