  1. Corbin actually hasn't been half bad the past 2 years. xFIP of like 4.21 (4.14 in 2024), which was better than Matthew Boyd, Holmes, Singer, Kikuchi, Ray, etc. last year. LFG man - we need you NOW. Edit - he throw 5 innings in A ball on the 4th. He should be up and available very soon. That's likely why Josh Fleming is on the team. He'll soon be punted to the moon.
  2. But then who's going down if Fitzgerald is coming up? Barger to the IL seems to add up unfortunately.
  3. It's difficult to express how much fun the start to this season has been. Where the f*ck is Patrick Corbin? Wasn't he already throwing?
  4. Josh Fleming struck out 4.7 per 9 in AAA last year. Why is he on our team again? I guess it's just another arm that can detach from it's shoulder with 0 f*cks given.
  5. Yes - I believe a foul pole in RF is necessary. It just wouldn't be very Pesky. But who cares, it's OK to leave some history behind.
  6. Your inability to comprehend the differences should concern you.
  7. I liked Cleveland's stadium when I went. It had this great standing room/craft beer/bar area in the RF corner which was cool (lots of stuff Rogers Centre has now incorporated). I enjoyed the Phillies stadium too. I've been to 2 games at Cincy and 1 at Washington. All had their pro's and con's really. I enjoyed them all to be honest. I'm going to Detroit this summer for my first ever game. Can't wait to get to the west coast to see SF, Petco, LA, etc. I like PNC for now "small" and quaint it feels. Great views too. I kinda just like Pittsburgh in general though.
  8. I'd be OK with them keeping the green monster in a "new Fenway" build. Pesky's pole is unnecessary IMO. We stayed at the Buckminster in Boston. A few steps from Fenway and the location where the Shoeless Joe Jackson deal occurred. It was a really cool experience. The rooms are still done up like they would be for the ballplayers (2 separate rooms with a shared washroom).
  9. I've been to a couple of games at Fenway and did the stadium tour at Wrigley (I also did the tour at Fenway). I loved both experiences - but I enjoy the history side of the game. It's certainly different than modern stadiums. I do expect that when they eventually replace both, it will be good for the team/city, but I think we should enjoy the history while we have it. I've also been to new Yankee stadium. Saw a game there and did the tour. Overall, I wasn't impressed. I wish I got to see the OG Yankee stadium myself. The modern version isn't very memorable like Fenway/Wrigley were. I almost forgot I've been there at times, with stadiums like Camden and PNC being miles ahead. Perhaps new Yankee Stadium is a good reminder that newer may not mean better...
  10. Yeah my wife and oldest son are going Tuesday. Missing Ohtani sucks, but Yamamoto is a nice consolation prize. Yamamoto v. Gausman; and Ohtani v. Cease Those are some big time pitching matchups.

  12. New video of Barger leaving Northwestern Memorial Hospital yesterday.
  13. That 0.000 BABIP luck is certainly masking the underlying numbers right now.
  14. The sad thing is you're probably right on most of these things. I sure hope we get to spend another 153 complaining about it and randomly blaming people for this outcome when we really have no f*cking idea why it happened. That's my favourite part.
  15. Why wouldn't we expect Barger to take a step forward? Did you miss when we traded for Sanchez after Santander got hurt? It's not like they sat on their hands.
  16. Voth is a 33 year old nobody. You can throw him until his arm detaches.
  17. Congrats to Valenzuela. Great way to start your career.
  18. Exactly - it's near impossible to reinvent yourself at the ML level. Players need the right environment and opportunity to make it happen.
  19. You realize the pitchers are as, if not more responsible for the runners ability to steal bases eh?
  20. Yesterday was the perfect example of why teams have moved to batting their best players 2nd. More at bats. Watching the game end with 2 on and Vlad in the on deck circle yesterday just sucks. There's a very high probability that Lukes is a sub 100 wRC+ hitter this year. He's a 31 year old journeyman.
