  1. It's a shame they stopped letting him run so early in his career too (maybe that helps long term) - but we could have seen a 40-40 season or better as he was the best base runner in baseball his rookie season.
  2. With my 5 year old son. I'll get around to the list....you'll understand why I couldn't ignore it.
  3. I was sitting in front of 2 idiots like this during the Canada Day game. I was going to do a point form list of all the stupid things they said, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I had to resist the urge to turn around and yell or punch them the whole time, which decreased my enjoyment of the game. Like you - they were suggesting players bunt all the time, often with 2 strikes...
  4. same seats you sold me for the Canada Day game????
  5. Do you move Tulo up now? or just stay the course?
  6. I'm not sure there's anything right now that makes me happier than seeing Tulo crush ball.
  7. Sure - but he has a wRC+ of 100 with RISP. It's a fact he's been WELL below his average with RISP this year. The high RBI total is a mirage.
  8. and right on que, Buck notes how many RBI's EE has and then reflects on what a GREAT season he's had. Followed by a fly out with a RISP....
  9. It looks like Happ is relying heavily on the 4 seamer today. Hopefully he's giving up on the god damn 2 seam pitch to contact ******** that's prevented him from being the BOSS he was in Pittsburgh last year.
  10. To be fair - he's right. EE's been bad with RISP this year. His RBI total is a reflection of opportunities - not good hitting....it's a prime example of why RBI's are a bad way to judge a hitter.
  11. We probably want Rasmus back I hope we want Josh Fields
  12. Because the meals come fast. It's almost like fast food at a sit down restaurant (only it tastes better)
  13. I had to leave after the 14th to catch the 6:20 train back to Barrie. My 5 year old sat and watched all 14 innings - what a beauty he is. That GO train to Barrie is f'ing sweet too - never driving or hitting the subway again!
  14. Has anyone posted record of how many pitches the ump missed today? I was at the game with a side view - so it was difficult to tell (although the fair weather fans around me - who were calling him a ref - yelled and complained all day long). I mean it became obvious he was awful, but are there any numbers out on just how bad he was yet?
  15. Swiss Chalet is pure gold if you have young kids. It's the only sit down restaurant I'll take them to.
  16. This....although I now struggle to enjoy food at any chain restaurant
  17. You'd think drainage wouldn't be an issue when you're a mile above sea level. Jesus Christ.
  18. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to see Travis flashing power like he did last year. It could be the difference between him being a good player and a great player. I love the kid. Love the approach. He's going to be a good one.
  19. Man I hate the review process
  20. Poetl isn't going to start or play PF. I don't think the Raps were drafting anyone at 9 that was going to be inserted in the starting rotation - let alone at PF.
  21. I'm sure that would do wonders for Floyd and his bulletproof arm... I guess my point being that if Hutch replaces Sanchez and the injury bug hits, we're short on depth. Do you just throw one of them to the fire (I think Chavez is probably better suited to do this btw)? It might take 2-3 starts before either could realistically give you 6 innings. That would tax the pen a lot - and might not be the best option when we're going to need every win we can get. Having LeBlanc available to come up for a spot start, without disrupting the bullpen might have been the preferred option. I get the good faith stuff - but surely 32 year old pitchers signed to minor league deal accept and know that's why they were signed? for that very situation? Maybe not and I guess hopefully if this situation arises, there's another journeyman starter in AAA who's throwing the ball well that some other team is going to just gift wrap to the Jays out of good faith.
  22. I think we need the second lefty. I think Biagini goes back to SF. I don't see anything special that would affect my decision on what is probably a "must win - go for it year".
  23. There's certainly some truth in this. Norman Powell is a pretty good, recent example. Hard working, meat and potatoes guy who may not have a massive ceiling - but can become a very solid rotation guy in the NBA. Labissiere was that very raw, all upside pick. I kind of thought Davis was a lot further along though - but still with all kinds of upside. I guess time will tell. I was really hoping Brice Johnson would fall to the Raps. I think he's going to be a really good player.
  24. Outside of Hutch - how realistic is the time line to transition Floyd or Chavez from the pen to the rotation? They'd need to accept a demotion to AAA and spend 3-4 weeks there stretching out their arms?
