  1. Oh...someone was also handing out mini bibles tonight. I may have said "ah what the f*** man" a bit too loud...
  2. My 6 year old reminded me this morning that he hasn't gotten a can of pop since 2014... Kids landed 2 full sized chocolate bars tonight. About as good as it gets when. You're 4 and 6.
  3. I like it. Wonder what AJ Pollock would cost. He's that low K%, versatile hitter with speed that we need
  4. Good point. Neither are great hitters (wRC+ in the 110 range), their base running value is eroding, as is their defense. Would you rather have: 1. CarGo for 1 year $20M + possibility of a draft pick from a QO.........while giving up a couple mid-level prospects. or 2. Reddick for 4 years $64-68M. I acknowledge this scenario is unlikely as I do expect COL thinks they can get a lot more for CarGo based on name alone.
  5. CarGo reminds me a lot of Jay Bruce - with better defense (although I don't think he should be up for GG, but whatevs). Counting stats and not much else. If they'd take Smoak and Upton for him - well great obviously, but I doubt they would. For 1 year, $20 + potential for a draft pick if we qualify him after the 2017 season - he's a decent target, but nothing special. We should aim higher.
  6. It's ironic how most of us gagged at the mere thought of Zeke on the roster in the first place. Now casuals want to give him a starting role in 2017 and others thinks he actually has value on the trade market (which he may)!
  7. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-most-fascinating-stolen-base-that-didnt-matter/ pats self on back...me so smrt.
  8. I'm truly happy to see them win a game at Wrigley. It would have been so painful to see them lose all 3 at Wrigley - and watch Cleveland celebrate there tonight. Let's go 7! C'mon Jake.
  9. Biggest crowd at Wrigley this weekend? WTF - are you telling me there were empty seats on Friday or Saturday? or are you telling me they installed some extra seats today????
  10. Heyward stealing - trying to induce a wild throw (likely the only way he'll score with Chapman hitting). Really smart move.
  11. Wow - that's super high. wtf?
  12. KCCO I guess. He's super hip/trendy right now.
  13. shut up Eddie - let Harry sing it. Loved Harry growing up.
  14. That wasn't a 102 MPH breaking ball Buck. Lay off the booze.
  15. Does Chapman have 2 2/3 in him? we're about to find out. I like it - if you're going to lose - lose with your best.
  16. Wow! Trying so hard to frame it. Catch it man.
  17. Pretty sure I've seen Carl Edwards Jr. throw harder than 95 in this series Matt.
  18. Yeah yeah - I know...that's why the stat confuses me (they've shown it a few times these playoffs). Talk about how he has the yips and then tell me the last time he actually attempted a pickoff - not the last time he picked someone off.
  19. Well then that stat is stupid to post...suggesting the last time he picked someone off was just over a year ago doesn't support this on-going narrative that he can't hold runners....They should show how many pick off attempts he made each year. (NOTE - Buck just said he attempted ZERO pickoffs in 2014).
  20. Baez is redefining how to tag people. Mark my words - this will be the biggest new defensive skill since pitch framing!!! Coming to you soon - a "tag time" stat!
  21. Man - Lindor is a f***ing star. f***ing star. Fowler is making teams think twice about paying him to play CF....(errr maybe I'm used to seeing Pillar be amazing - Fowler just looks so slow).
  22. When they say "last successful pickoff - Sept 20, 2015" - they mean that's the last time he successfully attempted a pickoff right?
  23. I'd probably go 4 years $80M for EE. 3 years would be better though. I might be a little high on what Santana will get. He'll be 31 at the start of the 2017 season and his 2014 and 2015 were a tad underwhelming. If he hits like he did this past year...he'll get his dough. He can market his versatility now that he's out playing LF!!!
