  1. You're a tool. It's amazing you've formed this opinion of the guy based on false information. Baez wasn't thrown out at second.
  2. Sure looks like a massive jerk there...We should all know by now that players from different cultures can, at times, play the game in a slightly different manner. Unless you start accepting that - you're going to hate a lot of players.
  3. I think we need an Anthony Rizzo Appreciation Thread...
  4. Really? That's awesome. I already named my first born Maddux, so I can't change that...maybe I'll buy a dog and name it Tony Rizz. I love the guy.
  5. Nah - I think they are. Rizzo has to be one of the most lovable players in baseball. His interaction with David Ross during Game 7 about being an emotional wreck was pure gold. David Ross redemption HR in his final game at age 39, Lester's a cancer survivor, Arrieta's a story of persevering, Schwarber's incredible return from injury, Bryant's a stud, Baez took the baseball world by storm these playoffs, Zobrist is finally recognized for being a phenomenal player (after years of being underrated), Theo cementing his place in MLB history, etc. Except Chapman. He's a scumbag (but really good at beisbol). But you can overlook that. The Cubs have it all. You add in the curse and the 108 years and this simply is one of the most special baseball seasons in ML history. I'll probably look to buy some memorabilia from this season. Maybe a book or something. Something that I can share with my sons when they get older. This is a season that should not soon be forgotten.
  6. I like the Port Charlotte Stone Crabs.
  7. He has more defensive value than guys like Adam Jones, Clutch and Span. Given that was his first ever year our in CF. That's not bad! I wonder if you put him in RF if he'd be a significant plus defensively and jump in WAR like Eaton did when he moved to RF...
  8. A lot of his value comes from his base running and defense and he's 31 now. His average wRC+ over the past 3 years is 99 and his batting style (aggressive, low walks, high strikeouts) suggest his already average bat may not age well (that's my guess - no #'s to back up that theory). In theory - he checks a lot of boxes and I think having someone in the Zobrist versatility role, who adds team speed would be a massive bonus for this team; however, I have strong reservations about giving him anything more than a 2 or 3 year deal. I know what you're saying, but there's a reason he only got a 1 year $8M contract last year, which included a position change.
  9. Keep in mind that "some" Canadians were probably watching the Fox feed to avoid Buck Martinez.
  10. Yeah - that was my experience there. I felt completely safe and we were out walking around the City at night (at times). I think they average 2 murders a day though.
  11. Disagree. If they understood how valuable he was - they'd start him more. Even in a part time role he was their most valuable player last year, yet over the past couple of years, they've been running the likes of Paulo Orlando and Alex Rios out there over him.
  12. God no. I think that was the right call. Rizzo is on fire and you set up the double play. He's trying not to give up the go ahead run in that situation.
  13. Nothing. And I think that's the point
  14. Did the cubs fan go to the game by himself??? Wtf. Loved Ryno back in the day fwiw. He was the best
  15. I thought for sure they would let Davis run in that situation.
  16. Cubs didn't pay any attention to Guyer - he didn't matter at all.
  17. Jesus - I hope he didn't drive the boys back to his house tonight
  18. Worst swing of the night...
  19. f*** that. He's done all he can do. He's just a fan right now. Go nuts
  20. FO guys don't get excited enough for me. I'd be going all Jason Grilli after those hits
  21. Even Shaws intentional walk pitches are cutters
