  1. Thanks man. I actually went on a high school trip to Washington and I think that's pretty much exactly what we toured when we were there (I saw the Dalai Lama in Arlington Cemetery - well, we saw his limo as he was touring through). As a high school kid I really enjoyed all the museums and places to see - but I suspect I'll have a whole new appreciation for it this time.
  2. He actually rebounded and was hitting good this year. wRC+ of 128. Not classic Miggy, but still very good.
  3. I'll give you my full run down upon return. I think we'll be in Washington for a couple of days. I'm really excited.
  4. So I'm heading on a baseball/golf trip with 3 friends in July. We're going to visit Washington, Baltimore and Philly. The ball games are as follows: July 21 - ATL @ WAS July 23 - BOS @ BALT July 24 - LA @ PHI We'll be squeezing in 3 rounds of golf along the way too. We're pretty pumped about the match ups as the likes of ATL and PHI got good sooner than we expected. I'm looking for suggestions or recommendations on: - Places to sit in each stadium (or where not to sit) - Places to eat in each City - Things to do in each City - Golf recommendations And any other tips that might help us out.
  5. Did Buck retire???
  6. If Bec, Brodt and Stevenson all go for $10K, that saves us $627,200. If we save 10% on Conine, that puts us at $762,200. We're still stretching to make up for $1,047,100 we went over on Groshans and Kloffenstein. Sorry Wymer, you're going to have to take a hair cut bud.
  7. We can only get back $345,000 from Bec if you assume he signs for like $10K or something.
  8. I agree, but where are you getting your wOBA stats? Fangraphs says Betts it at .480 v. Trout at .451. Betts is slugging .735 - he's having a great season.
  9. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/how-corey-dickerson-erased-a-weakness/ Good article. Wish we could have picked up Dickerson for nothing...
  10. Living with a douche bag like JPA can't be easy.
  11. Alford continues to heat up.
  12. Meh - I just rhymed off a list quickly. Don't read too much into it.
  13. Oh - absolutely, but our 'core' is going to come from this list (along with Pearson + Biggio, who I forgot). Our core is clearly in transition right now and it's unlikely we're going to add more core players through a trade (JD + Happ being our only assets).
  14. Why are people still so high on Barreto? His K% has jumped to almost 30% in almost 700 PA's in AAA. You can't put him at 22.
  15. Jason Kendall comps for days.
  16. What do you even think our core is right now? We're re-tooling. The core is in transition. The new core is going to be: Vlad Jr Bo Jansen Alford K.Smith Warmoth Stro Sanchez SRF Borucki Zeuch
  17. Alford's heating up and Kevin Smith is no longer off to a slow start in Dunedin.
  18. All teams dumpster dive. It's part of baseball. Accept it. I mean FFS, we found Bautista and EE in the dumpster. Of anyone, Jays fans should understand the potential rewards of dumpster diving.
  19. god damnit
  20. Burocki, SRF and Zeuch will all be options in 2019. They may be back of the rotation guys (as could Sanchez), but they do have some young depth. A lot of money comes off the books in 2020, so we may look to add through FA.
  21. They are turning over the roster and re-tooling in preparation of the new wave of talent (Vlad, Bo, Jansen, Alford, Gurriel, Borucki, Zeuch, SRF, Hernandez, Smith, Warmoth, etc.). This past offseason they signed some veterans to short term deals that won't handcuff the franchise in the future (when that talent is ready and we're on the right win projection path again). If everything broke right this year, we'd contend for the second WC spot in an AL East that is full of rebuilding teams. Unfortunately, almost everything has broke the wrong way - but that's baseball for you. The good news is those short term veterans now become trade chips at the deadline for the team to acquire additional young talent. Some will bitch that our vets suck and we won't get s*** for them (and they could be right), but we got Teoscar for Liriano at the deadline last year - so keep an open mind.
  22. If you've watched 85% of the games since 1985 - I don't think anyone in their right mind would call you a bandwagoner. Nobody on this board is really a bandwagoner - regardless of how many games you actually watch.
  23. No disrespect, but your comprehension on what the Jays are doing is completely f***ed.
  24. Sure they would. Kids posts stupid s*** on social media every second of every day.
