  1. I'm OK with this. Alford needs it
  2. Is this a reflection of improved scouting, projections and predictability tools?
  3. I think this Frazier talk is a pure pipe dream. KC got next to nothing for Kelvin Herrera...
  4. The Score is suggesting the Indians get Soria and Avialan from the White Sox for Will Benson, James Karinchak and Sam Hentges. Would we give up Tepera and Loup for that package?
  5. The score app suggests (theoretically) that Happ goes to the Yankees for Chance Adams, Everson Pereira and Juan De Paula
  6. Fair enough. I'm just curious what people see in him. Stat scouting, I don't see much power (yet), I don't see great on base skills and I don't see big time speed or someone playing a premium position defensively. I see someone who doesn't strike out a lot. I had the impression there were lots of guys with good hit tools, but little else who flame out at the higher levels because pitchers don't fear their power or speed. Maybe that's more your high BB%, on-base kings who have no power. Was just curious - you guys answered that. Some of you in a less condescending tone than others.
  7. you don't get 1st round picks anymore GBill
  8. Just to be clear - I'm not talking about 2018 Ramirez. He's clearly useless now (he's struggled to rebound after an injury right?). I'm talking about what we thought we had in 2016. I suspected Verdugo had better projectable tools, but he's certainly not shown it yet (although he's hitting well in AAA so far this year). Your tool report looks better than Fangraph's too btw.
  9. Sorry - I'm just curious why people are so interested in him. Verdugo 2015 - 108 wRC+ in A, .325 OBP, .394 SLG (age 19) 2016 - 113 wRC+ in AA, .336 OBP, .407 SLG (age 20) 2017 - 118 wRC+ in AAA, .389 OBP, .436 SLG (age 21) Harold Ramirez 2013 - 133 wRC+ in A-, .354 OBP, .409 SLG (age 18) 2014 - 117 wRC+ in A, .364 OBP, .402 SLG (age 19) 2015 - 163 wRC+ in A+, .399 OBP, .458 SLG (age 20) 2016 - 112 wRC+ in AA, .354 OBP, .401 SLG (age 21) 2017 - Current: BUST Verdugo may have better raw power (seen some of that in AAA this year) and he throws better - but offensively, these 2 were pretty comparable IMO... and FWIW, I never said NO to Happ for Verdugo - I just wondered why people were interested in him. Low K% seems like his best tool at the moment. Maybe some untapped power?
  10. What's the interest in him? He looks like Harold Ramirez. No power, no speed, no on base skills
  11. Anyone know anything about these prospects?
  12. Nationals acquired RHP Kelvin Herrera from the Royals for 3B Kelvin Gutierrez, OF Blake Perkins and RHP Yohanse Morel. He's a rental. He didn't fetch anything of interest unless Morel, who's 17 is a high touted international signing.
  13. Not me - I hope he goes in a massive slump.
  14. Yes - I think times have changed (even though that was only a few years ago). The Astros didn't give up as much as the Cubs to get multiple years of G.Cole.
  15. I might be missing your sarcasm, but in terms of route, positioning and tracking the ball - no, I don't. RF has an extra throw (RF to 3rd base) you have to make, although in general there are fewer balls hit to RF. Personally, based on Teoscar's route running and strong arm - he seems like perfect fit in RF. Put Grichuk and Pillar in LF and CF where there are more opportunities. The only thing I can't of that makes LF easier than RF is ball park configuration, or if someone struggles with balls slicing away from them (in which case LF would get fewer of those than RF). But that would seem negligible overall.
  16. I agree. You'd have to catch Cashman in pure desperation for this to happen. It would probably take an injury to one of their starters - and he's probably have to be drunk. I'd give up JD and Happ in a heartbeat for Frasier. Bird will probably be hurt by then and JD can slide into 1st for them.
  17. That doesn't make any sense to me unless it's a mental thing.
  18. apparently Evan White has the same scouting report. Can play CF, but we put him at first because he's sooooo good there.
  19. I have to think Clint Frasier is the ceiling for what we'd get for Happ. Kyle Lewis is more likely. Although he has the pedigree, he's 22 and in high A ball striking out 5 times more than he walks. He certainly looks like that knee injury set him back big time. The M's farm system is awful. I'd attempt a back flip if we got Frasier for Happ.
  20. We'll probably get all the savings from Bec. College seniors get like $5K - $10K
  21. No - it's a joke as a couple of years ago people were saying Cody Bellinger is athletic enough to play CF, but because he was SOOOO good defensively at 1st base that they were going to leave him there.
  22. He plays CF Cody Bellinger...
  23. Jon Harris with 2 good starts in a row. Nice to see Biggio and Alford hit bombs.
  24. He's striking out 27% of the time in high A ball. He is not going to be the next 19 in the majors.
