    Ironically, a video from last October recently emerged of Kliff Kingsbury (Arizona's new coach) saying he would take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray "with the first pick of the draft if I could," an interesting coincidence given his new team's position at the top of the draft. I'd love to be a fly in the room during a meeting with his agent. I have a question. If Kyler enters the draft (which I think he already has?) - can he simply choose not to sign with the team who drafts him? Couldn't he put out he word that he's only willing to sign and play football if he's drafted before a certain draft pick - and that he'd need a certain amount of money guaranteed - otherwise, he won't sign and will go back and play baseball? ie, Couldn't he say he has to be drafted top 10 and be guaranteed $20M or he's going to spring training?

    Wow. I don't know if 2017 was the beginning of the end for Dozier (2nd basemen have a history of falling off the cliff), but this guy has averaged 3.75 WAR/yr over the past 6 years. $9M on a 1 year deal is a f***ing steal with little to no risk.

    I just discovered Uniqlo over the Christmas break. Is it a quality store? Their online shopping platform pissed me off.

    Seeing as I already have to watch the game on mute (to avoid inspection by the Buck-Tabby virus) - this would be a massive improvement to my viewing experience.

    1st round pick, who's a middle infielder coming off a .324 avg, 147 wRC+ season might miss some Top 100 lists? That's nuts. Low K%, high BB%. I guess he'll be 22 this year, and was s*** in 2017. Otherwise, there's a lot to love about him.

    and it's just about time to lock up this thread. 2 votes for me this year, which I believe is 2 more than I've ever gotten. Nicest and most annoying. Awesome. I love this place.

    Anyone know why the Mets kept Luis Santana in rookie ball last year? He tore it up in 2017 as an 18 year old (165 wRC+, more walks than strikeouts)....then they had him repeat it last year? Are there different levels of rookie ball that don't show up on the stat lines?

    Where is Lux now on most Top 100 lists? He tore up A/AA last year.

    Is that bWAR? Fangraphs has him at 2 and 2.5 WAR seasons (hence my comment re: a 4 WAR season).

    I hate Tim Hortons and Boston Pizza. The only thing I do enjoy from Tim's is a cheese tea biscuit that's toasted with butter - and I like the chili. Oh and their wedgies actually aren't that bad. I'm totally with Alan though (Allan's think alike) regarding the patriotic following. It makes me sick that people blindly support Tim's like it's a religion.

    I wonder what Rendon's going to get. He's been significantly more valuable than Harper over the past 3 years, although he's 2 years older.

    you can be as pessimistic as you want, but you're basing that off how an old regime operated the club and assumptions on what you think the Ownership group will allow. That seems incredibly shortsighted. As noted, we'll have next a pile of payroll flexibility as of 2020 and with a young core of Vlad, Bo, Jansen, Biggio, Alford, SRF, Borucki, Zeuch, Paulino + guys like Groshans, Pearson, Pardinho, Smith, Martinez, Hiraldo, Koffenstein, Conine, Spanberger, Kirk, Danner, Perez, etc. on the way - 2020 might be the best time to add a couple of FA's to the young mix.
