  1. SSS, but he's been awful v. LHP. v. RHP: 152 wRC+ v. LHP: -53 wRC+ What's worse? fans not getting to see him play or fans seeing him go 0-4 v. Price? If only Drury hit lefties well (or anyone well...f*** me he sucks) Montoyo could set up a platoon!
  2. I wonder if there might be information that they know about that the fanbase doesn't.
  3. The thing with Sanchez is he was legitimately good in 2016 (ie, it wasn't like there were underlying numbers to suggest it was a fluke). The Jays would have had to known it was a complete mirage and sold him that offseason. I have a hard time blaming the FO for how this has played out.
  4. because he hates watching Javy Guerra pitch. It's as simple as that Dick.
  5. you're missing his point completely.
  6. Broxton basically IS Socrates Brito. The only difference is he had one decent half season where the BABIP god's where shining down on him.
  7. I agree with you re: Gibby 2.0 - although there's a solid chance that Gibby wasn't interested in managing a tanking team. You also continue to call all the moves a dumpster fire, even though I pointed out a number of moves that worked out very well (Woodman ended up being 1.6 WAR from A. Diaz + Trent Thornton, Grichuk trade) and we've picked up some very solid pieces when dumpster diving (Sogard, Shoemaker, Oh + other bullpen arms). I don't get it. Just because you keep saying it, doesn't make it true.
  8. So you want them to unload Stro and Giles - and be a .500 team next year? That seems realistic...
  9. I'm just going to make my vote for 2019 best poster right now. BlueRocky - I love this stuff. Manoah and Rutledge are intriguing if we do want a college arm (assuming Lodolo is off the board).
  10. This is probably the most sensible post you've made Todd - spot on. This poem is nice and legible too.
  11. lock that man up long term!
  12. You can complain about the Morales, Pearce, Grandy and Garcia signings (add in the Happ trade) - but those are all pretty small peanuts man. In turn, I could say Galvis, Shoemaker, Sogard, Maile, Gaviglio, Woodman for A.Diaz trade, A.Diaz for Thornton trade, Giles trade, Grichuk trade, Pearce trade, draft picks, international signings, Oh signing & trade There's a quick list of solid moves that Atkins has made. All solid, yet more small peanut transactions. The obvious trend here is to make a ton of minor moves (some of which will work out, while others won't), clear payroll and rebuilding the farm system. It's pretty obviously they've made a conscious effort to hang tight until they're in a better position to strike. We should be talking about whether we agree with that approach or not. The real test will come when they start to make tangible moves that will impact the team long term. Until then - it's pretty inconclusive IMO.
  13. Questioning them is fine. Known trolls repeating the same thing in multiple threads is not fine.
  14. Missed opportunity for Buck and Tabby to jerk off about how awesome hit and runs are and insinuate how old school baseball is the best...don't expect it to happen again.
  15. What if we traded Happ for Luke Voit? or Yandy Diaz? or Christian Walker? or Stephen Piscotty? or Dwight Smith Jr.?...or how about our own Randell Grichuk? There are lots of guys in their mid 20's who, when given an opportunity or a fresh start, turn into valuable players (despite never putting it all together for their previous club). Does it always happen? Of course not, but it seems like you're completely ruling out that possibility in favor of only high risk lottery tickets.
  16. Moreno's load reminds me of Bichette.
  17. I was kind of thinking along the same lines. I've liked everything I've read about Carroll so far.
  18. At what point do telecasts start showing that value on every hit....I mean we show the pitch velocity on every pitch...why not the exit velocity on every hit? Christ - even dumb and dumber (Buck + Pat) talk exit velocity all the time these days.
  19. That's not a triple Buck you f***wad
  20. Pablo's a national league type of player - Pat Tabler
