  1. No worries - his 142 wRC+ also confirms he shouldn't be hitting 7th. He's our 3rd best hitter.
  2. Yeah it's all just TV talk. That said - what's wrong with saying "The Browns offense looks like they have some mojo back this week. Obviously the Bengels defense isn't strong, but this has to help their confidence moving forward"
  3. What is wrong with Jack Flaherty? Adam Wainwright is the Cards best pitcher this year - that's pretty incredible. Always loved watching him pitch.
  4. It's been a pretty entertaining game. Bad defense makes the Browns offense look good. Chubb has massive holes to run through.
  5. Gurriel is f***ing awesome. What a find.
  6. Bryon Buxton is up to 12 HRs now - 129 wRC+ 1 walk, 27K a 0.9 BB% That's insane.
  7. Yes Boxy - I mean you are correct. This was a joke gone horribly wrong.
  8. Upon further review - she is correct. I think I had this image ingrained in my head...
  9. f*** Tim Anderson. How does he still have a BABIP over .400 (did last year too) without hitting the ball that hard? Freeman's making a push for NL MVP - after recovering from a bad bout of COVID too. Mookie still there also.
  10. If deGrom wins his 3rd straight Cy Young award this year at age 32 - how many more WAR does he need to reach the HOF? If he remains dominant (5-7 WAR per year) for 3 more years through age 35 and then slowly declines (10 WAR combined for the rest of his career), he'll end up around 60 career WAR. Is that enough? Anyone else notice his fastball velo is up about 1.5 MPH this year? Incredible.
  11. He may not be smart - but he's a future superstar if he stays healthy.
  12. I think you've grossly underestimated how gorgeous Kliff is.
  13. Joe Borrow v. Baker Mayfield Gotta get the #1 pick (and the former #1) some prime time. Plus there's a chance to make Cleveland Steamer jokes.
  14. That's an awesome move IMO. Replicate (closer) to a regular season scenario. Bring strategy into the game instead of the same 3-4 arms being used out of the bullpen every night.
  15. That doesn't mean your comment wasn't reactionary and moronic.
  16. Ask Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch why they can't throw to first as ML 2nd basemen...
  17. the 140 wRC+ is the reason he's in the lineup.
  18. Did the current ownership sign the lease? or did someone else buy the franchise and inherit it?
  19. I started this s*** show. Perhaps I should have clarified that I really respect what the FO is able to do. They are put in an incredibly s***** situation year in and year out (as you noted) - horrible stadium, no fans, no budget, AL East - yet they continue to find ways to be competitive. It's really astonishing to be honest. I applaud their ability to think outside the box and continue to win instead of just tanking to get draft picks like the Padres, Astros, etc. I personally don't give a f*** if 'traditional' baseball is changing and if some old farts and stubborn players don't like it. If you choose tradition over winning - you're a f***ing loser. Ownership and the franchise in general is a complete s*** show - but the on-field product really is remarkable.
  20. Holy f*** - it sure doesn't. So disappointing. Here's a video of his debut....still MUCH smaller. Check out the 1:38 mark. Batting practice HR off a fans face...and then they replay it in slow motion!
  21. Kirk will be my science experiment. We have (at least) two obese players on the team now. One is a trust fund baby who's career success will have little to no impact on his quality of life. The other (presumably) doesn't. Will the one who comes from nothing have the internal drive to improve his habits and transform his body as required to get the absolute out of his career? Will the trust fund baby fail to reach his potential? Or will their families financial situation play little to no part in all of this. Time will tell.
  22. explain? and while I used to love fantasy baseball - I no longer bother with it and thus the frustrations as a fantasy owner are invalid reasons.
  23. agreed - this is really bad for baseball. I was rooting for the A's a bit too (unless they played the Jays of course)
  24. Somewhere inside you - you have to love the Rays a little bit. I know I do.
