  1. awww s***. RIP Hank.
  2. Toronto will have an NFL team in exactly 12 years. see how stupid that sounds? I mean will Toronto get an NFL team? I think one day they will yes. Is that a guarantee? no. There's a massive range of potential outcomes based on the information we currently have. I'd estimate it's a better than 50% chance we get an NFL team within the next 20 years.
  3. Reminds me of when Cabbie quit to go work on the Marilyn Denis show. I can't wait to see Sid breakdown the new spring fashion trends.
  4. You seem to talk a lot in absolutes. You should reconsider that approach.
  5. He was dealing with a mental block. Like Altuve getting the yips last year (and being unable to throw the ball to 1st base). Who knows where is his mentally right now, but there's no denying the guy has incredible tools. Massive exit velocity, 70 grade speed and he walks a lot. There's a ton of tools there....but a good chance he never puts it together. He's out of options, but may sneak onto the team as a 5th OFer. It may also hinge on what they decide for ML roster this year. Will they be expanded due to COVID again this year? If so, Fisher may stick and could get another chance if injuries hit.
  6. I think you keep Fisher through Spring Training if you can - just as insurance against a major injury. There are a few arms that will bounce around the 40 man pretty easily.
  7. Yeah I think that's all correct. It was a great day. 2nd year in a row I won't be at STing. I'll miss it. My kids are at a great age to go - we've been touring around to check out all the different stadiums. I want to check out Atlanta's new one in North Port once we're able to travel again. I really do seem myself retiring in Florida or Arizona - and I'd love to be close to a few different STing stadiums. Hopefully take my grandkids to it one day.
  8. Nope. I was there with 2 of my kids and my brother I think. You were there with your (hot) wife if memory serves correct. We had a beer together. I just checked my old messages. It was you.
  9. No need to make that decision now. He can probably be a very good 3rd baseman, but we might leave him in CF as we should expect Springer to slide over to RF in 2024 or 2025 (maybe sooner?)
  10. G-Snarls - did we meet at this game? Christ my memory is awful, but I'm pretty sure I met someone from this board at this Baltimore/Toronto spring training game. It was awesome because they made Bo and Vlad surprise additions to the lineup.
  11. I've been suggesting Seager for months now. He seemed like a solid fit as long as we have lots of budget to play with...
  12. Yeah - that's not how it works.
  13. Did Keith Law write the blurb on Martin? f*** me.
  14. Aggressive ETA projection on Beltre...
  15. Interesting stuff. If the FO believes Walker has a lot of untapped potential with the analytics, then it might make him a good target. I'm also curious. Do teams work with their players during the offseason? Are the Jays currently influencing what Pearson is doing in his offseason workouts? Are they reviewing tape on his mechanics and outings last year to help him prepare for 2021? Or are players kind of on their own to do whatever they want. I ask, as it would be a significant disadvantage for someone like Walker, as a FA. Sounds like he loved what the Jays were doing, but wasn't here long enough to dive into it. Ideally, he'd be using this offseason to work with their staff, understand it more and possibly make some adjustments this offseason. I believe the answer is no - teams don't work with players in the offseason. Seems like it could be somewhat of a missed opportunity. Christ - I work with my U11 team during the winter (for those who want to come out and when it doesn't interfere with hockey or other commitments).
  16. Why won't we sign Tommy La Stella to play 3rd instead? 2 year $14M with a club option maybe? He gives you about 90-95% of Brantley's bat, is a big time contact hitter from the left side and plays a position of need. 2 years younger and won't cost near as much. TLS needs a platoon buddy, but I still think he's a good fit.
  17. f*** Keith Law - he's a ****.
  18. Give it a rest Hurl. Men aren't known for their throwing ability either.
  19. steady gentlemen...
  20. women aren't known for their throwing ability, I doubt you dodged much.
  21. For f*** sakes - how's a guy supposed to work with all this going on.
  22. Atkins is probably being an Alpha Boss - forcing Brantley to accept the 3rd year as a club option for the right to play on this amazing beisbol team.
  23. Real possibility that Kirk is the trade chip we're dangling out there for a SPer. There are lots of teams that may not want ML players (says Pittsburgh for Taillon)
  24. I think La Stella would be a great fit. 2 years $14M or something.
  25. Just to be clear - you'd be 'fine' with the 14th best pitcher over the past 2 years. Got it. haha
