Is Mike Rupp the guy in this photo? https://imgur.com/gallery/n8mrhzD
  2. I'm just saying it's crazy that Houston has 4 starters who they think are better than Garcia. Garcia isn't far off 'good' Berrios.
  3. Imagine having the depth to have Luis Garcia in your bullpen in the World Series and Urquidy off your roster for the ALCS. Insane stuff.
  4. Yeah that Bregman at bat was huge. I think we forget how hard it is to square up 101 sometimes.
  5. Those 400 PA's likely add enough WAR to push him over 60 for his career. He's a borderline HOFer.
  6. Jomboy suggesting there's no real evidence that McCullers was tipping pitches last night. Says he thinks Harper was just telling teammates that he isn't sharp and to f***ing crush him.

Very slow start and it's still a SSS, but his production is almost half of what it was last year.
  8. My point is someone like JD Martinez DH'd the entire season and has a Def value of -15.0 Vlad wins the gold glove at 1st base and has a Def value of -15.4 Yes, Vlad played 21 more games than JD did, but how in the living f*** can the calculations suggest Vlad was LESS valuable defensively than someone who played 0 innings in the field. I fully understand that no matter how good you are defensively at 1st base, it's not as 'valuable' as someone who plays (even well below average) at another position - but this just doesn't add up for me.
  9. Bruh I'm just looking at the "Def" stat on Fangraphs.
  10. I'm not sure anyone will 'figure it out' with Durant and Kyrie. 2 biggest ****s in the NBA. Good luck.
  11. I saw the other day that with the 3 first round picks that Miami received from SF (who took Trey Lance), they have turned them into Waddle (pick used to trade up), Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb. Yes, they have to pay those guys, but that's an insane return, while Lance's career is in the crossroads.
  12. I know Gold Glove awards are stupid, but I do think Vlad played a good 1st base this year (kudos for him for working at it). But I think the guys at Fangraphs need to improve this defensive value calculation. Vlad was statistically the 11th least valuable player in baseball last year.
  13. What do you think the odds are that he's better than 2022 Kirk? (or just better than Kirk in general) What do you think the odds are that he's better than Jansen?
  14. It also means he has the highest risk and the lowest floor of the 3.
  15. This just seems like a great opportunity to take advantage of the f***tards in Colorado's FO before Ownership smartens up and fires them. They should be rebuilding, they should want prospects. Is Orelvis too much for Marquez? What about like Robberse, Barger and Horwitz or some package like that?
  16. German is a pretty solid trade target right now. Coming off a 'down' year. He has 1 year + a club option remaining on his deal, so that fits our current window nicely. At $15.3M in 2023 (and $16M in 2024 if kept) he's perhaps a little pricey, which may actually reduce his value (to our advantage). What's it take to get Marquez? Could you get Marquez and Jordan Beck (or Zac Veen ) for Jansen? Maybe that's a bad idea as you could just re-sign Stripling for that kind of money and keep Jansen...
  17. There's no doubt that Kirk has elite bat to ball skills, but it's hard to ignore what Jansen's done too (who also had some massive offensive seasons in the minors). I'm still of the opinion that Moreno might be the 'right' guy to deal. He has the best combination of value and risk IMO. Can't wait to see what Atkins does.
  18. Surely we can aim higher than that? I mean if that's all you can get for Jansen, then you keep him and trade one of the other 2 IMO.
  19. Or it could be because over Jansen's last 335 PA's, he's got a 155 wRC+, a slash line of .278/.349/.580, .302 ISO and 23 HR / 53 R / 64 RBI / 9 BB% /17 K%. Maybe he's the next Carlton Fisk? But seriously - I think most just want to trade the catcher that provides the most value in return. We can't f*** this up. Fans also believe there is some risk in Kirk's weight. If the FO and their team agree, than that has to play into the thought process as well. If the FO and their team believe the Jansen's we've seen for the past 335 PA's is the true Danny, then this might be a perfect time to lock him up to a team friendly deal - before he's able to stay healthy for a full season. It's going to be fascinating to see what the team does and how this all plays out. I hope we get it right.

    Just awful drafting.
  21. I generally agree with this. I think Moreno will provide great value, but he also comes with a lot of risk. Look how long it took Jansen to blossom into a ML hitter. We're ready to win now. We can't have Moreno starting 120 games, giving us below average production while we wait for him to figure it out. It comes with risk, but if we could land say Alek Thomas and one of Arizona's young power SP prospects, then I think that's something we seriously need to consider.
  22. That's fair. No harm in having discussions with Jansen to see what it would take to extend him. And yes, if he's willing to sign a sweetheart extension then that would impact the decision of which catcher to move (it would also make him much more appealing to other teams - although that's probably dirty pool to extend him and then trade him).
  23. Did Josh Allen actually suggest he wants a roof and they said no? f*** me. I hate this ******** that 'real football' is played in snow and freezing temperatures. Again, only the special people amongst us really like that and by god, we shouldn't be making major decisions based on what guys who jump through tables think.
  24. I'm not sure I agree Jim. If we trade Kirk or Moreno and get back a young stud CFer with similar control, then we'd have that stud, plus either Kirk or Moreno still. I don't think that type of moves makes it mandatory to immediately sign Jansen long term (or to do so before you make the trade).
  25. Did you expect to see a robot behind home plate?
