    You're really naïve if you think this team is employing an idiot and that Charlie is the only person who decides how to utilize the bullpen. There is a f*** ton of information that you and I aren't privy to - all of which goes into the decisions. You should really stop acting like this is clear cut stupidity. What you're doing is what people do with politics. It's not good man.

    Yeah that was ******** - pulling a often injured pitcher in his first start of the season after a shortened spring training. It's not like the Dodgers are gearing towards a long playoff run this year. Personal achievements should always come before the team!

    I didn't catch much of the Detroit series, but I just looked up their fangraphs page to see how Baez was doing. Good god, that team is awful. 2 hitters with 100+ PA's that have a positive WAR. Baez, Tork, Miggy, Grossman, Baddoo, Meadows - all just f***ing awful. We've been ripping Semien for his poor start, but at least he's at 0.9 WAR on the season. Imagine signing Baez to that huge contract and watching him with a 47 wRC+ and a -0.3 WAR. Woof.

    Goins was also a starter 2 of those 3 years. 2021 Zimmer = 2015 Goins. He just wasn't on the Jays last year.

    Romano, Mayza, Pearson, Cimber, Garcia, Phelps...I think there's enough there without adding anyone, but of course I'm assuming Pearson becomes a lockdown setup man and Mayza returns without missing a beat. The bazillion days off throughout the playoffs allow you to realllly shorten the pen use.

    I think he's suggesting that Tony La Russa is old and losing it....not that he's old and implementing old school tactics. Honestly, after listening to him try to explain and defend that move, I'm not sure he's firing on all (or any?) cylinders anymore.

    If this were true - they wouldn't use the shift as much and/or with 2 strikes. Your perception of is incorrect.

    Again - the Jays pay a team of experts to manage the use and health of their players. They know significantly more than any of us do and would understand if there are underlying issues we don't know about. The science and research may show that 2 days off right now is exactly what Teo needs. Maybe he's fighting something right now. Maybe Vlad is a little banged up so DH today and day off tomorrow is the way to go. Maybe Kirk will have to shoulder the majority of the catching for the next 2-4 weeks, so 2 days off right now is exactly what he needs. It isn't difficult to understand there are people with significantly more knowledge than us making these calls. Questioning them with your little to no understanding of the situation is just....dumb.

    At least Tapia (and the rest of the offense) is pretty hot right now.

    Your expectations are unrealistic if you think we're going to have any extended period of time where this many players are on this type of hot streak. I would agree that Vlad and Springer will go through a period where they are hotter than they are right now. But the chances of that aligning with Kirk posting a 307 wRC+, Bo sporting a 194 wRC+, Teo 174, Chappy 160, Lourdes 170, etc. etc. is incredibly low. There is a very good chance this is the best stretch this offense will go through this year - the question is just how long it will last. They are #1 or #2 in almost all offensive categories during this stretch...you think we can do better than that? C'mon man. If you're looking at the season total wRC+ #'s and suggesting Bo and Vlad will finish higher than they are right now, you're right, but typically hitters get hot at different times. Almost the entire team is hot right now. Enjoy it.

    Crazy to think his K/9 was 6.35 as a 19 year old in A ball. Now he's one of the filthiest arms in MLB.

    I believe we also had a scouting report from Ang that suggested he wasn't going to be anything special.
