  1. The reality is there simply isn't as much velo in the NPB. They don't see high velo at anywhere near the same clip batters do in the MLB - so claims "they can't hit high velo" need to be taken with a grain of salt. I believe I read that Ohtani didn't have a single HR off a pitch 93+ before coming to America and he's doing pretty good. But it's always a question about how they can/will adjust to high velo.
  2. Bregman back to the Red Sox makes sense to me.
  3. I'd have liked to been in on Imai at that price. However, I understand why we weren't and I'm happy with the path we chose.
  4. and Happy New Years to each and everyone of you. May 2026 be the year!
  5. We aren't deep enough to give up what it will take to get Marte, not to mention they'd probably want ML ready talent like Barger. I'd rather just spend money and keep the prospects.
  6. Thank you Brock. Happy anniversary?
  7. I don't think Felix should get in the HOF. If he does. Wright needs to as well.
  8. Always great to see the A's spending money. They have a really good, fun, offensive core right now. Hoping they can keep them together and move into Vegas with some excitement surrounding the team.
  9. I thought I'd always read that Truist Park was a bit of a "dud" in comparison to other newer parks. Glad to hear some good things about it. I'm jealous of all the parks you've been to!
  10. The great news is they are now making stadiums that all both types of fans can love for different reasons. The lounge areas typically aren't for me (as I'm usually with my kids), but I think it's great they are full of casuals pounding beers and taking social media posts. That's a huge benefit for the Jays and adds extra vibe and buzz in the stadium. I have also enjoyed those lounge areas when I've gone to other ball parks with friends - when we didn't really care who won the game. We had a blast in them. It seems like such an obvious way to build/layout a stadium. Cater to all types of fans.
  11. I certainly hope you're right! He's the epitome of a ball player. I really hope good things happen to him.
  12. Happy Holidays to all of you. We were blessed with one of the greatest seasons in Blue Jays history - and I bet Santa is placing thousands and thousands of Blue Jays hats and jerseys under Christmas trees tonight. Cheers to another impact bat in the Blue Jays stocking.
  13. Closer isn't something you need to worry about right now. Ricky T might be the next Hader for all we know. You add at the deadline if you think it's a major issue.
  14. I never realized how awful Henry Davis has been. Complete swing and a miss at the 1st overall pick. You just can't have that. Endy Rodriguez also seems to have reached the "massive bust" status. Swaggerty was a bust and Termarr Johnson's glow has worn off. It's been a rough go for the Pirates. Konnor Griffin needs to step up and save that franchise.
  15. I'd love to see Springer finish his career in Toronto on a bunch of 1 year deals ala David Ortiz. You probably have to move Santander to make that happen though...
  16. This seems insane. I almost hope he's a steal.
  17. Phillies pen was is already thin. They must really like Bowlan. Maybe repurposing Strahm's salary to sign another FA?
  18. Pasquantino had 32/116 last year. I'm not sure he can breakout anymore. Caglianone can though. He could be a beast - which is exactly what KC needs.
  19. This guy is suggesting Ohtani had 1 career hit on pitchers 93+ before coming to the MLB. That sounds insane.
  20. It's worth wait for a couple of reasons. 1. Ideally, we'd unload him while cutting some salary. 2. He provides good insurance right now given some minor uncertainties with Bieber (+ all the other ticking time bombs known as the pitching staff). I really don't think it's wise to move him for another "bad contract" on the offensive side.
  21. 100% That time is not now. It's following free agency when a solid starter on a contending team goes down with a major injury and they have limited depth. That's when Berrios becomes more valuable - especially if he's "healthy" again and throwing well.
  22. I agree with this. There's also a possibility that he rehabs (or does whatever he needs to do to get his elbow and bicep healthy again) and shows well in Spring Training. That, coupled with a starter of a contending team going down in the spring could increase his value. He's also a safety valve for this team. There's really no reason at all to dump him right now provided he isn't holding us back from signing Tucker/Bo/etc.
  23. Are people sniffing glue again? SD wants to cut payroll, so they'll trade the superstar closer who's projected to make just $3.3M this year in Arb 1 In exchange, we'll give them Hoffman at $11M and Berrios at $19M + the remaining years on both their deals. C'mon people.
  24. What do you base this opinion on?
