  1. HOLY f***. WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Freeman is a good damn beast...
  2. What a Game 1. Huge matchup here. Treinen v. Judge.
  3. Was that a mistake by Roberts to leave Flaherty in for the 6th? Everyone loves to dissect/rip the decisions to pull a SPer too early (when they are rolling). Was this an example of what can happen when you go with your gut and ignore the analytics? The way Stanton is hitting, you can certainly question the decision to let him see Flaherty a 3rd time through.
  4. The play by Edman was incredible. He not only saved a run by gloving it in the first place, but he saved a run by throwing home instead of to 1st (Jazz was going). He's been unbelievable for the Dodgers these playoffs.
  5. Little update...positive stuff. Blue Jays LHP prospect, Kendry Rojas threw three scoreless innings in the Arizona Fall League on Wednesday, striking out two and allowing two hits. Rojas missed the first few months of the year with a shoulder injury but returned to High-A in early July and posted a 2.59 ERA with 69 strikeouts and 14 walks in 62 2/3 innings. The 21-year-old is now up to the mid-90s on his fastball while also featuring a plus changeup, gyro slider, and cutter. He is an intriguing arm in the Blue Jays system and will likely start the 2025 season in Double-A.
  6. 100%. I'd imagine they need to do that first before they allow challenges...
  7. Forming very strong opinions based on a little information (and/or false information) is one of the primary reasons for a lot of the problems in this world...

  9. Hopkins to the Chiefs. Kupp could be next (rumors are he may go to Minnesota). Not sure I've ever seen 4 high profile (old) WR's dealt in the same season. 49ers needs WR's, but they may not want to give up a lot, given their current position in the standings. Bucs have been gutted at WR too.
  10. Baseball Gods - all I ask for is a 7 game series. Make it so.
  11. Was it similar to Nomo-mania?
  12. I wonder how quickly a team should expect results when hiring new specialized coaches like Popkins. I assume he immediately becomes available to players within the org, but they can't force players to come train with him in the offseason. For some players, he may not even meet them (or work with them) until Spring Training. It would seem difficult to impart many "big" changes at that point - but obviously small tweaks are possible. Muscle memory doesn't change overnight (although the mental side and the approach could change more quickly). My gut would suggest that some players might be skeptical of making changes suggested by some guy they just met and thus I could see it taking 6-18 months to start seeing tangible results? As for Lehr - wouldn't he be following the direction/lead provided by Pete Walker and the MLB staff?
  13. Terrible news in advance of the World Series. A Dodger legend.
  14. So what do we do? Hire their pitching coordinator on the player-development side!
  15. There were some rumors of a possible return to the mound before the playoffs started - but I haven't heard anything recently. It seems unlikely. If he was close to returning, I think they'd be talking about it a lot more.
  16. While how he can go from “He’s the total package, a guy that can teach the swing, understands movement and the way the body works along with the ability to game plan, break down pitchers and then the ability to connect with players,” to not having his contract renewed in the matter of 3 seasons. I wonder if there were similar comments/quotes about Guillermo Martinez in 2022. There probably are. But - new is good. Let's see what he can do with this group. For all those who felts Martinez or Donnie Baseball were implemented some team wide philosophy (which ruined the offense and the team), you must be relieved to hear this guy believes in individual game plans, based on ability and skill.
  17. I really disagree with this. They had 1 GREAT season in 2021 (how the f*** did they win 107 games?). Their next best season was .500 and they've only been at or over .500 twice in the last 8 seasons. The team hasn't had many impact prospects or young players over the last 4-5 seasons either.
  18. That Pack game was frustrating to watch, but I'm glad they pulled it off. Love needs to stop turning that ball over so much - but that offense is great. Love is starting to draw more comparisons to Favre (as a gun slinger) than Rodgers.
  19. Damn right - give me a Game 7 World Series to cap off one of the best playoffs in recent memory for me.
  20. Separates the true baseball fans from the Jays fans.
  21. 100%. My wife asked who I wanted to win last night. I said the Mets - simply because I wanted to see a Game 7 and more of this baseball. I hate to see it end!
  22. Man - that game last night was unreal. Yanks had 2 "Joey Bats" moments in the same game. That's the drama, the lead changes, the moments we all want to see in the playoffs.
