  1. Unfortunately, I suspect it's going to be.
  2. I also agree the Jays need to just bite the bullet and keep Vlad. As a fan, I have never liked him, but I think you need to lock up a hitting talent like him (despite all the other ****ty things he does and the potential risks). I'd be fine with anything in the $400-$450M range. This is obviously a lot more than the Jays (and fans) likely wanted to pay, but I do agree with the cautious approach the FO took to date (given all the immaturity and inconsistencies). I think it's time to commit.
  3. No concerns with being disappointed in results and/or FO over the past 4-5 years. But expecting them to pull a magical rabbit out of their hat in the current situation is unrealistic and unreasonable. You may also be horrified at the cost and long term impacts required to pull that all off. Incoming insult in 3, 2, 1...
  4. That's nice, but it's not like this is some common issue that Vlad is "likely" to suffer from as well because he's overweight...the increased likelihood of Vlad suffering the same issue (as Fielder) over a skinny player is probably like 1.5%.
  5. The disappointment and anger is going to be unbearable here shortly. Full on Facebook rage as there's almost no chance all the video games moves you guys want are going to happen. Some people may just want to take a year off until they blow this thing up.
  6. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone. Cheers to some direction for this team in 2025 (and fewer Facebook posts )
  7. Yeah yeah - we all know he ****ing sucks. Everyone is stoked he's here.
  8. I'd rather stab myself in the face with a fork.
  9. Yeah - when Alonso hit the big HR in the playoffs, I figured the Mets would find a way to keep him long term. He's pretty damn popular for the Mets.
  10. Do GM's always attend arbitration hearings? I'd have no idea if it's typical to send an assistant or not. The fact Vlad doesn't practice defense in the offseason says a lot - and shows a lot.
  11. I hope the Mets sign Bregman, Alonso, Burnes, Teo, Hoffman and Scott. I'm curious what happens if they spend twice as much as anyone else.
  12. The Jays? LOL
  13. He tried (and failed) to do this a while back...
  14. Hard to argue with this.
  15. Looks like a potential Tommy Edman type, possibly with less speed, but better infield defense? Nico Horner and Brice Turang also come to mind as potential positive outcomes. Then again, maybe those are the 80th+ percentile outcome.
  16. I was reading about this on the weekend and wondering about players who go to JUCO and then to the NCAA....never saw that as an alternative to the minor leagues. Is there any angle now with the NIL money where players would prefer that v. making jack s*** in the minors? It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
  17. 100% agree. My apologies for taking the bait too often. It's ironic that you've brought this up, as just this morning I made the decision to add them back to the ignore list to try and remove myself from the issue. I had them on ignore for a long time, but made the mistake of removing them at some point. That was my mistake - if I wanted to read that nonsense, I'll go to Facebook next time. I agree it's ruining the board and I want no part of it.
  18. This place is going to resemble Facebook soon with these 3 making half the daily posts.
  19. I'm in full agreement with this. Just hoping Atkins does the right thing in setting up the next regime as best they can.
  20. I googled what a group of Blue Jays is called and I came up with Blue Jays Party Blue Jays Band Blue Jays Scold Blue Jays Flock Band of Blue Jays? Blue Jays Intelligentsia?
  21. I agree. This is frustrating as f***.
  22. Barf - that's really expense for a 39 year old coming off a dead cat bounce.
  23. Naylor to the Diamondbacks
