The Blue Jays are changing the Level of Excellence to the Hall of Excellence. They are taking the names/numbers down from the upper level and are creating a "hall" on the 100 level. Interesting - I liked having the names/numbers displayed, but I guess at some point it becomes too cluttered. It will be interesting to see what they create. I hope it's wicked.

6.5 BB/9 with a 3.5 K/9 isn't ideal...some might say that ERA isn't sustainable.

Cook's inability to steal bases is baffling for someone with that speed. It can't be that difficult to develop an average "jump". Hopefully his college coaches were all just morons and real coaching unlocks the ability to steal bases.

It's just asset management. We're short MI talent. This protects against a major injury on the infield. Lukes just isn't good enough to worry about sending him to AAA for the onset of the season (as much as I hate this for him personally). Hard to see us going into the season without a backup infielder - unless you see Schneider being a reasonable option at 2nd, which the Jays haven't shown much evidence they do...

Agreed - he's more of a 2nd baseman. But Ernie can always slide over to SS if needed.

If true, I'd probably just flip Vlad and Barger. Obviously you might put Straw into supplement Barger or Varsho at times v. LHP. You could also slide Leo in for Gimenez - especially if the Jays have a flyball starter on the bump. v. RHP, Sanchez and Varsho could swap spots based on who's hot and v. LHP, Schneider/Clement could swap spots based on who's hot. Tons of RH/LH balance available this year. I prefer Okamoto in the 4th spot. Best combination of power and contact. They may not want to start the year putting that much pressure on him - but he's 29 - he's a vet and I think he'll do just fine.

Incredible game. Rosey saying it was as good of an atmosphere as he's ever experienced. That's crazy (and likely an exaggeration). Why the f*ck is the finals tomorrow, putting Venezuela at a huge disadvantage. Some of their top bullpen arms won't be available. They should at least get 1 day off for both teams.

One challenge is Little never really threw a 4 seamer in game, so we don't really even have a base to compare a velo gain against. 4 seamers are "typically" 1-2 MPH harder than a sinker. If Little threw a 4 seamer, it might have already been 95+ last year. It's averaging 96.7 this spring, so that wouldn't be an usual velo gain IMO. That said - hitting 98.4 MPH certain grabs your attention! I always found his pitch mix a little odd. Typically guys with hammer curveballs utilize a 4 seam fastball and then you have sinker/slider guys (although this might be a bit outdated now). I wonder if they want Little throwing at 4 seamer at the top of the zone so he can tunnel that curve better - start it out at the belt so he can land it for more called strikes. That would make a lot of sense from a guy who clearly needs to throw more strikes. When you're trying to tunnel a sinker and a curve that starts at the knees and dives out of the zone - it's easy to see why he walked to many. I'm sure sliderguy can educate us all in what Little should be doing.
