  1. This thread both vexes and amazes me
  2. I never knew AA elicited this much hate before. He totally revamped our scouting/drafting process. The fact that we even had some valuable prospects to trade was a foreign concept until he took over. Our team was in the dark ages before him trying to build through FA for christ sakes. I see a lot of revisionist history going down on this thread. Outside of the obvious blockbuster trades everyone remembers, think about trading nothing for Brandon Morrow, Colby Rasmus, Yunel Escobar, Rajai Davis. The list goes on. Then under the gun moves like moving Roy Halladay after he requested a trade and Vernon Wells when he had quite possibly the single worst contract in MLB. I absolutely prefer a draft & develop philosophy but you simply cannot fault AA for doing most of the moves he made. Does anyone have a transaction history of all his moves?
  3. I was fortunate to go to a few Roy Halladay starts over the years. He was without a doubt my favourite player and my favourite Blue Jay of all time. My favourite game by far was a game the Jays didn't even win. A game versus Boston where Halladay went 9 innings but left the game in a 1-1 tie going into the 10th. My dad was pestering me to leave early all game (to beat the traffic ) but I told him at the very least we are staying until Halladay gets pulled. I was just a snotty teenager at the time but somehow got him to stay the whole game. The game ended in a 2-1 loss in the 12th inning https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/TOR/TOR200307080.shtml I know what I am wearing tomorrow.
  4. I, for one, would like to see him go to the Twins
  5. watch the occasional MLS game, know a thing or too more than the average pleb but thats not saying much. that game was tits
  6. hosmer side wins
  7. Keep Harper. The worst time to trade him is now. Don't sell low on him in a keeper league like that.
  8. Matt Devlin sounds like a drunk person? Am I in bizarro land here? What is this strange place I have entered? Are you seeing planes? Is your name Tattoo? Because I swear to God, you're living on Fantasy Island. If Devlin sounds drunk then Buck sounds like a strung out basehead.
  9. I... hate this post... so much... words... do not... do it justice. Buck stores... interesting/funny things... fans like him... I need to leave before I pass out.
  10. I frequent a few forums like this and this is by far the most condescending board. Its not particularly close really. I can deal with it just fine because, hey, its the internet, but that doesnt change the facts. The world isnt sunshine and roses everywhere anyways. It is what it is.
  11. I would gladly take Moore. This is one of the classic guys who has all the stuff in the world but it just hasnt clicked yet. I dont know what it will take to line things up for him but you take a chance on that kind of guy every time you can. When he breaks out, which is eventual in my eyes, it will be hard and it will be fast.
  12. he got $3.90m this year. he gets a very minor raise to $4.25m the next 2 seasons. i dont read to much into projecting a bigger role for him, just that they really like him in the role he has now and dont want to mess with it. i do agree why pay smoak now when you can just play it by ear and no doubt get the same deal later on?
  13. Michael Kopech may have thrown the fastest pitch ever Wednesday night http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/kopech-hits-105-mph-against-wilmington/
  14. assuming the term is short (1-2 years) the o/u for me is $10m per season. happ just signed for $12m per season. estrada just signed for $13m per season. paying dickey $10m makes sense in that scenario. i know we got good deals with those 2 but i dont think dickey can expect us to pay him on par with that pair. he's older and less successful. thats just bad business. someone else surely will though.
  15. it just goes in to 2nd gear as soon as it crosses the plate
  16. hes emotionally distraught, duh. he's going through so much. didnt u see him cry that one time?
  17. i just googled all jefferson defense and these are the top 3 things that pop up. 10 minutes of Al Jefferson playing defense >>> Hornets center Al Jefferson: I’m ‘sick’ of being defensive liability >>> http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nba/charlotte-hornets/article9197294.html Al Jefferson knows he’s bad on defense and even he seems surprised by how much Bobcats offered >>> http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/al-jefferson-knows-bad-defense-even-seems-surprised-182657901.html ... i'm pretty sure its a known fact that jefferson is terrible defensively. i knew it just casually to start with.
  18. the only thing that worries me about demar's contract at this point* is that he is our 2nd/3rd best player and our best player (Lowry) is a ufa next year (can decline $12m player option). *look i know hes overpaid and all that but we all knew he was coming back for more than we liked so after that we just had to rationalize it.
  19. isnt al jefferson one of the worst defensive players in the league? and hes also injury prone and constantly hurting. he gets good popcorn stats though.
  20. its Aquilino Lopez
  21. f***! now we have to deal with Weber all the time now. and Devils killed the Oilers too.
