  1. is it weird that when most people i know or hear about getting tickets always end up seeing dickey?
  2. i googled 'brooks baseball bartolo colon' to check his pitch usage just to make sure (his 2-seam was always sick btw). result 1 = colons brooks baseball player page result 2 = colons wikipedia page result 3 = fangraphs article titled 'bartolo colon isnt a one pitch pitcher http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/bartolo-colon-isnt-a-one-pitch-pitcher/ i found that more amusing than anything. hes a great counter example though. he throws a ton of fastballs, is a SP, and doesnt suck.
  3. tony cingrani really is a small part of the point i made, just a useful example. sanchez reminds me of a 1 pitch thrower who isnt mariano rivera or any other insane RP.
  4. i'm gonna run counter to everyone & everything and say that Sanchez is not this good, is overrated, and is going to get exposed. to use a similar example he reminds me of tony cingrani. they both rely predominantly on their fastball with their secondary stuff lagging behind. and when i say 'rely on their fastball' i mean thats basically all they throw. right now Sanchez throws a non-fastball roughly 25% of the time. if he faces 25 batters a game (super rough estimate of 18 outs + 6 hits + 1 walk) and throws 100 pitches that is literally 1 pitch per at bat that is not a fastball. unless he changes his approach and trusts his secondary pitches more i believe it is only a matter of time until he gets exposed. he's got a sweet fastball but that only can get you so far for so long. ... there i said. let me have it.
  5. u could kind of see the bats coming around. with the return of travis and the way we handled kimbrel + chapman being the best signs.
  6. fieldin culbreth looks extra large tonight. t-rex penguins have better safe calls then him.
  7. i feel like they are so close to saying aaron sanchez is big and strong this time. tabby already kinda did.
  8. i have heard that this is impossible from... a very close and trusted source. based lots of science and studies and whatnot.
  9. great deal. trade literally nothing for a real life big leaguer. there is no way we lose this deal.
  10. lots of fun with numbers in this back and forth!
  11. did any of you ever see that show Ugly Americans? it was pretty funny.
  12. what are the reasons to ever sign a player to the supermax deal? i've got maybe 1 or 2 in my head but i'd like to see what other opinions are. when i think about the supermax sometimes it seems kind of silly honestly. SUPERMAX = 5yr/$145m deal only available to home team (basically the exact opposite of a hometown discount) MAX = 4yr/$100m deal available to all NBA teams (i could be wrong on these figures but i think they are close)
  13. haha what a bad at bat by Paredes. i thought for sure Donaldson was gonna end it there with one of his patented clutch HRs.
  14. made me lol. go to LAL and live in Kobe's shadow for a terrible team + org. hometown though (chyea). or go to PHI and just... yikes. but hey i'm sure colangelo still loves him.
  15. and now he's dead. where is greedo's force ghost?
  16. now for my opinion based stuff... I think they will be dumb and re-sign DeRozan. At first I was thinking Masai might play it close to his vest and get Demar to sign for fair value (READ: Not a max deal), which is still possible, but the more I think about it the more I see some other dumb team offering him max money and Ujiri giving in. The Terrence Ross contract shows that Ujiri is not immune to questionable contract decisions. I dont think we have too big of a problem re-signing Lowry after next season. With the cap explosion and our current contract commitments + expensive DeRozan I think we would only have to clear roughly $6m-$10m. Biyombo is gone. They will keep Carroll for as long as they can. He really is an important player for us. We are weakest at SF and he compliments are big players perfectly. They will keep Ross for 1 more year at least. He seems like a prime candidate to be moved in the future though. Signing him to the extension was just a move to cover their ass and maybe create a little bit of leverage. If DeRozan leaves they have SOMEONE who they know. If DeRozan stays then they have a potential trade asset as soon as DeMar signs. If Demar gets $25m max deal then he eats practically all of our cap space and our PF position is f***ed.
  17. heres a couple links to help you get some key info http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/TOR.html http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2016/04/15/nba-salary-cap-higher-than-projections/83095482/ https://raptorsrapture.com/2016/03/02/raptors-2016-2017-roster-spot-dilemma/
