  1. John is part of the clubhouse chemistry at this point, players dig him, he's passionate about winning and overall has done a really good job. There would be way too much pushback if he was let go (nor should he be). Managers don't get fired when you go from last to first.
  2. If it ain't broken, don't break it. We got a winning formula, with majority coming back. Keep the same approach, high contact team. Bo is essential for our make up.
  3. Hell yea! Thanks Biebs
  4. Hi Atomy boy - we have a full Off Season Thread going on that you can find here:
  5. Bring back Bo, stick him at 2nd and call it a day. Replacing his production for our type of line up isn't as easy as just sort free agents by wRC+ and roll the dice. I want the league's best at getting hits for when it matters most.
  6. The Dodgers won because we simply couldn't get a single damn timely hit or an ounce of luck. I haven't looked at the stats, I'm not ready to look yet, but we left a million runners on base.
  7. I still can't articulate my thoughts after Game 7. I'm just stunned how it all turned out. Disappointed but also so damn proud of the team to play up to their abilities. I think Dodgers heavily underperformed and we simply did our best.
  8. At least we stayed within the Luxury Tax line ($241m)
  9. If it goes to Game 7, I don't think they got anyone left to throw one out. Ladies and Gentleman, for the ceremonial first pitch, Hazel Maze. Kidding aside, maybe Buck could be honoured with it.
  10. I feel ya there, I also stopped playing from an arm injury in my early 20s. I'm sorry to hear about your dad, memories last a lifetime at least, it's these types of moments that bring those back. My dad passed unexpectedly on the operating table in March going in for heart surgery. Still feels fresh. Let's hope we get the W today/tomorrow for them!
  11. Yea I was 10 when they won in 93, granted I was heavily invested thanks to my dad. The Jays were running the highest payroll in baseball in the early 90s though and had a team of stars. To me there's definitely a different feeling this time around. For starters, Toronto represents Canada at this point and we got fans from coast to coast who haven't experienced this before. We're taking on the Dodgers and making all their analysts second guess themselves. While it's not exactly David vs Goliath, they think they are the center of the world and can't see outside their window. They basically have written the narrative that they can buy championships at this point and finishing them off, in front of our crowd would be so so so satisfying. There's people talking baseball everywhere now, people who haven't watched a game since the 2015/2016 bandwagon. I've never seen others so into it before. Every town/city is buzzin. I really wish I could have watched this one with my dad, he would have loved this. Anyway..

  13. I mean that's not even a remotely close of a comparison here. He's a rookie who was drafted not an international bid war who proved himself. Unless the Jays extend him at a young age, he's going to earn league minimum like 99% of other big leaguers who make it to the bigs. He's already made about as much as Vlad did when he was 22 and had 5 or 6 years of pro ball under his belt. Trey is doing just fine, if he invested his signing bonus he'd be taking home $100K/yr for life.
  14. I get that he'd be looking forward to it but all these articles make it sound like he didn't just get $4m last year for signing lol.
  15. I'd be happy if he only threw 7 innings at this point. He doesn't get rattled by an early lead or anything. We got to break his rhythm somehow. Bring back the old hit & run strat that's non-existent today. Drop a bunt or two. Odds are we have to manufacture runs to get ahead of him (as much as I hate that term).
  16. This is the best stat that I'm sure no one can say for now: Trey Yesavage has more strikeouts in the World Series (17) than in the regular season (16).
  17. I mean... the more balls you put in play the more lucky breaks you're going to get. That's how it works.
  18. I feel that too but just soak in the moment, up 3-2 against the Dodgers. Incredible, I don't think I could have thought of this moment from all the teams we've seen stitched together.
  19. I know this board has grown a lot recently and we have a lot of bandwagon fans but there's so many regulars here who have watched this team together for well over a decade, through all the ups and downs. You know who you are, enjoy this moment!
