  1. Who was the last successful player to go from A ball to MLB in a year for us? Probably been a couple but I don't recall. I remember Osuna went from A ball straight to MLB a decade ago (He had so much potential, what a disappointing outcome).
  2. Oh extra inning maddux - Halladay?
  3. One has to be RA Dickey although I wish it was Josh Johnson (I thought that was the steal of the trades that year lol)
  4. If Bassit can keep the runs to 2 or less like he's been doing of late, then the game is winnable for the Jays' style of play regardless of how good Rogers is tonight. Nothing has stopped the Jays from grinding out starting pitchers, working counts and damaging the BP. Kind of feels like most games are winnable this year for them.
  5. Yea, he only hits it about 35% of the time of late. Awful.
  6. Because the Jays have never come back by 3 after 1. Okay.
  7. I kinda miss the times when this type of workload was considered normal for your #1 and #2.
  8. and some of you said you'd be happy with just 1 win this series... Keep it rolling
  9. I'm sure all Yankee fans are saying the same about the Jays.
  10. This series is postseason vibes. Get me 2 wins please, I don't care how ugly.
  11. Shaping up to be quite the exciting s*** show
  12. I hope Santander turns it around when he returns, I don't want him back as a hole in the top half of the line up.
  13. It's equal to a game at most each, like a starter having a bad couple games. They are better than what you see there and will likely level out a bit. They are not lights out, nor have they been but just being closer to average at best is what is needed. They need a solid game or two and get some confidence back. Nance is a little deceiving, he's been hit around this month as well and lets in runs, just not his own. He needs a clean inning to start.
  14. At the end of the day we don't have someone that can come in and just stop the bleeding.... All of our guys just walk too many to be reliable to get out of jams. Time for a starter to go 7IP+ and our offense to put up some crooked numbers.
  15. I know most MLB teams give AAA guys a chance out of the pen after September but their entire career is established as a starter. Imagine coming in cold with runners on for your first big league experience sounds daunting but teams do it. Also, A ball to MLB in the same year is crazy.
  16. His wRC+ is basically the same across the board, he's fairly level headed at the plate it's just always recent bias that people harp on. He also hasn't played in a week, he might take a couple games to get his timing right.
  17. They also had planned on Garcia returning, maybe it was a mistake to count on it but it was realistic in their plans I'm sure.
  18. If only Schneider could pick anyone he wants at any point in a game... he wasn't coming off the bench. At the end of the day, it's just another AB whether it's the 9th or the 1st.
  19. I get matchups and I get pitch counts but I tell you, I'd rather our starters go a full 6IP minimum than rely on more outs from pen.
  20. The armchair managers are in full force tonight
  21. I think they had high hopes Garcia was returning which honestly would have been a huge lift.
