I mean it's not against the rules but it's very unethical. The purpose of the profit sharing is to add to their bottom line so they can compete. When you make $300M you don't even need the profit sharing to begin with but that's a different story. They simply need a rule to enforce a minimum to avoid these shenanigans.

I don't care about a salary cap, I want a minimum spend to force the cheap ass teams from just profiting from the shared revenue and not giving a s***. The Marlins fund their entire payroll from the shared funds and pocket their own generated revenue ($300M/yr) with no accountability. It's horseshit. Fans deserve a better product than what some of these owners give them. If takes a lockout to fix that than do it.

It's definitely in everyone's interest to get back to playing as soon as possible. The only way the entire season gets locked out is if the owners decide to force the Union's hands by not giving up their hard cap but that's too dividing amongst themselves. No way 23 teams are going to agree to a hard cap let alone a cancelled season to get it.

Hats off the Brews man, their fans deserved this the most. They've clinched their division for the last 4 years in a row while boosting the best record in baseball for the last two seasons. They stayed hot during the postseason and this time won it all. That's getting it done.

I think there is a large number of people who don't actually have any money sense and will throw their credit card at tickets without much thought. They had 250K people in waiting queues per game. 45K people were not rich, maybe half and half were making poor decisions.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if Caminero doesn't even get plunked in their first series against each other next season. After Bautista's bat flip (and subsequent retaliation against him), pimping bombs seems almost expected with home crowds now in big moments. Bautista took one for everyone back then, which unintentionally made the game more fun.

lol, dude is firing up his own crowd in the biggest game of his life and that ended up being the game winning bomb that sent them to the WS. If you got an issue with this, how did you take Bautista's batflip?

Just as most of us wanted, the Brewers got their moment and hopefully finish it off. I hope the Guardians make it through, at least their fans show up for the postseason. Although, could a World Series with a 3/4 full stadium in Tampa mark the final dagger on their future?

Both pitches were right down the pipe for the taking. Should have been pulled after the Bauers bomb to take the lead and his 99th pitch. After that long at bat, he was done.

Incredible at bat there by Bauers, 10 or 11 pitch at bat, home run to take the lead. Silences the crowd.

I want the Brewers to get more attention, they've been playoff bound for probably 10 years and just don't have anything to show for it. They are always overlooked. Really hoping they get passed the Dodgers on the big stage and do what we couldn't.

Definitely - Guardians & Brewers pls. Cleveland's 77 year drought and Brewers have never won (44 years) would make for a happy ending either way.

I know, we had more than that actually. I was just referring to this lackluster season. Acuna can still be a massive offensive stud, but he's about as fragile as glass. He turned it on in the last 4-5 weeks of the season at least.

That'd be the Braves. They beat the Dodgers 5-1 in their season series. Chris Sale threw a complete game shutout against them in August and could derail them.

I always laugh when managers change their entire strategy with pitchers the moment the postseason begins. I get that your starters are burned from the weekend but forget everything that got them where they are and just start trying new things is batshit crazy. Guys that have a 1:1 Game to IP career ratio (Duran), lets make him just go a few innings what's the worst that can happen? Remember when Kikuchi was brought in as a middle reliever for Berrios (who should never have been pulled).... Kuch had never even pitched relief before but why not just try something new when games matter most.
