  1. It's crazy to me that Chris Sale can continue to be so elite at 37 years old after 17yrs in the majors, throwing at an awkward angle and post tommy john.
  2. We've had 3 pinch hitters and Guerrero is left on the bench is rather refreshing tbh.
  3. Cease has a legit shot at Cy... Guy is a machine.
  4. So Gausman's next start on normal day's rest is lined up to be against the Jays in a make up game Thursday, if the give him the ball. Please give him the ball.
  5. lol, this thread has massive extreme takes on a guy you likely haven't even watched pitch live, albeit a game or two.
  6. I feel like the over/under on Scherzer is about 5 more starts.
  7. Pretty sure that's Spotrac's adjusted payroll but it doesn't include deferrals. Dodgers have a larger payroll by a landslide when it comes to the Luxury Tax calculations I think.
  8. This is all true. As someone who worked in the online gambling industry for decades, gambling sites were never allowed to advertise freely, we used loopholes like advertising .net (freeplay site) than worked to bury it in Google so the .com would only show when you searched (Yes, it was a dirty game). Since Ontario legalized it in 2022, advertising is also legalized and that's why you see the heavy influx now.
  9. There's not a chance they are taking on more payroll and tax penalties on this team, even if they are in the WC standings at the deadline. I'm sure only the Mets are worse from an investment standpoint right now. At the very least, Gausman and Varsho should be traded and a contender might take Springer for the postseason if we eat some salary. Sadly, Bieber for cash considerations at this point.
  10. A day removed from jet lag, our ace on the bump & a rested BP sure sounds good on paper. The line up on the other hand is a roll of the dice.
  11. I wouldn't move any future to improve this team, just sell off any low hanging fruit and move on. I agree 100% and also every expiring contract should be considered for sale. Springer/Gausman/Varsho/Bieber. Could still slide into a WC spot with a .500 season and fresh faces.
  12. No it's not a joke, the WS managers become the AS managers following year.
  13. He somehow got out of that after throwing like 8 balls in a row
  14. At least Springer has a 125 wRC+ in June. You can't expect more than that going forward.
  15. Not just a homerun either, an 11 pitch at bat bomb.
  16. I don't know how I feel about Clement getting all the votes, but I guess it's a popularity contest anyway.
  17. I can't be the only one that always sees Gausman as Guzman in the thread titles.
