Yea I was 10 when they won in 93, granted I was heavily invested thanks to my dad. The Jays were running the highest payroll in baseball in the early 90s though and had a team of stars. To me there's definitely a different feeling this time around. For starters, Toronto represents Canada at this point and we got fans from coast to coast who haven't experienced this before. We're taking on the Dodgers and making all their analysts second guess themselves. While it's not exactly David vs Goliath, they think they are the center of the world and can't see outside their window. They basically have written the narrative that they can buy championships at this point and finishing them off, in front of our crowd would be so so so satisfying. There's people talking baseball everywhere now, people who haven't watched a game since the 2015/2016 bandwagon. I've never seen others so into it before. Every town/city is buzzin. I really wish I could have watched this one with my dad, he would have loved this. Anyway..

I mean that's not even a remotely close of a comparison here. He's a rookie who was drafted not an international bid war who proved himself. Unless the Jays extend him at a young age, he's going to earn league minimum like 99% of other big leaguers who make it to the bigs. He's already made about as much as Vlad did when he was 22 and had 5 or 6 years of pro ball under his belt. Trey is doing just fine, if he invested his signing bonus he'd be taking home $100K/yr for life.

I get that he'd be looking forward to it but all these articles make it sound like he didn't just get $4m last year for signing lol.

I'd be happy if he only threw 7 innings at this point. He doesn't get rattled by an early lead or anything. We got to break his rhythm somehow. Bring back the old hit & run strat that's non-existent today. Drop a bunt or two. Odds are we have to manufacture runs to get ahead of him (as much as I hate that term).

This is the best stat that I'm sure no one can say for now: Trey Yesavage has more strikeouts in the World Series (17) than in the regular season (16).

I mean... the more balls you put in play the more lucky breaks you're going to get. That's how it works.

I feel that too but just soak in the moment, up 3-2 against the Dodgers. Incredible, I don't think I could have thought of this moment from all the teams we've seen stitched together.

I know this board has grown a lot recently and we have a lot of bandwagon fans but there's so many regulars here who have watched this team together for well over a decade, through all the ups and downs. You know who you are, enjoy this moment!

Even though Bassit has been reliable and like you said likely can go another, I'm not sure giving them another look from him is ideal unless the scenario really calls for it. A rest day would be best, not for being tired just to skip him before they beat him philosophy. I think almost everyone is available with 3 games to go in their season as it appears everyone is running on adrenaline right now.
