  1. Does anyone know when this trend of the RC sound guy playing obnoxious music/noise between every pitch started? I don't remember it during the AA years, but it's been super noticeable the last couple of years. When Springer was up in the 2nd inning with the bases loaded, right before the first pitch, the crowd was super into it. Then the first pitch is thrown, and the stadium immediately does that obnoxious music trying to prompt the crowd to chant "let's go Blue Jays", and it completely killed the buzz. I don't get it. When the crowd is dead, then sure, but when the crowd is already making a ton of noise, I don't understand the logic. It's annoying watching at home, I can't imagine how annoying it would be watching it live.
  2. If Santander is on the bench tomorrow while IKF starts against a LHP, then I might tap out until Thursday.
  3. Might want to start Santander moving forward and pray that he turns it on. This offense hasn't looked good without Bo.
  4. Umps/NY being nice to the Jays after that 2nd inning. Too little too late.
  5. Jays caught a break there, looked safe to me. Take advantage of it.
  6. It's horrendous to listen to on TV, can't imagine how annoying it is in person.
  7. I could live with the foul call, but that called strike 3 was egregious. Kirk also drew a walk but the ump screwed him out of that one.
  8. Wow. Manoah must have looked like s*** in the minors. He’s arb eligible with 2 years of control left after this season, so no reason for the Jays to cut bait unless they think he’s toast (which he might be given how he looked in 2023). Curious to see where he ends up.
  9. I guess it depends on what they thought of his rehab assignment. Aside from the 45 minute home run trot he had, not sure if anything else stood out. If they didn't like the way he looked (EV, bat speed, etc), then it would certainly be defensible to prefer Lukes/Schneider in the OF for the playoffs right now. From an upside standpoint I'd rather have Santander out there (one trick pony but that one trick is super important in October) but which Santander we are going to get in 2025 is the question. The one we saw playing through pain earlier in the season was one of the worst players in the game. Would still rather see him in the lineup though.
  10. Yeah this team is unapologetically obsessed with defense, so the outfield corners being George and Tony for playoff games is probably not something they have any intention of doing if Bo has to DH. Not sure what they do with Santander in that scenario though. If they feel he's not going to help them this season but he feels ready to go, then it's going to be a tough situation.
  11. The minor league season is over, so not sure what "haven't made a decision" means in this case. Maybe they didn't like his bat speed or something in his rehab assignment.
  12. Yeah if the ALDS is Jays/Yankees, then that series will get the best time slots. The last 3 playoff appearances had the Jays facing the Rays, M's, and Twins, so not the type of matchups that US networks will prioritize. The Yankees are a different story.
  13. I'll 100% take the bye and risk whatever timing or "too much rest" issues that come out of it. In this case the extra 5 days will give Bo a chance to get better, and that's very important to this team's ability to move beyond the first round. Even the 2015 team that was loaded lost the first 2 games of the ALDS that year. If that was a 3 game series then that team is forgotten about rather than romanticized. Take the bye and whatever happens from there is what it is.
  14. That was my thought as well. Perfect timing with the off day tomorrow. Get drunk tonight and be ready for Tuesday. Missed the game but amazing accomplishment to clinch a playoff spot and win 90 games given the pre season outlook for this team. Just get Bo and Tony healthy and then hope for the best.
  15. Mariners win the season series against the Astros, so the current 2 game lead is really 3 games. I have extreme Astros fatigue as a baseball fan so no issues with another team taking the West, even if it's the Mariners.
  16. Yankees going 6-1 and Jays going 3-4 is unfortunately a very realistic outcome based on schedules and the Jays injuries. Getting Tony back might help. I still think the Jays get the division, but it's gotten to the point where it's not a certainty and could easily flip. The beauty, and misery, of a baseball season.
  17. I’d like to believe France would be the one let go but will have to see it to believe it. Way more likely to be Joey.
  18. IKF starting against a LHP again, despite having a 71 wRC+ against them in 2024 and 42 wRC+ against them in 2025. Barger is at 71 this season fwiw. I’d like to believe there’s more to JS’s logic than “RHB better matchup vs LHP” but it doesn’t appear there’s much beyond that. Like if you want to start IKf once in a while then doing it against a RHP is a much better matchup.
  19. Lukes has a 99 wRC+, on the year and against RHP, and an 89 wRC+ (86 vs RHP) since June. He's expected to be the team's #2 hitter in the current setup. I think the best thing that can happen to this team is Bo at DH and George + Tony in the OF corners in Game 1.
  20. The 2015 AL was kinda ass. Only 2 teams in the entire league with 90+ wins, and only 2 teams in the AL East above .500. Just gotta get in and hope to get hot at the right time, I guess.
  21. Yeah I don’t think I want to see Scherzer start again, certainly not in a game that matters. Berrios makes sense in the bullpen now because they need someone to throw innings in case Bieber/Yesavage can’t give them length, and Berrios is the only one with enough rest to be able to do it, but if it’s between him and Max in the rotation, then I’m not sure which one I’d go with. Pick your poison.
  22. Nance and Yariel for 40 pitches each, Fisher used, now Little. Scherzer going to cost someone their roster spot tomorrow. Just go with IKF and Heineman for the last 2. Not sure why they are burning any real relievers at this point
  23. When's the earliest a team can go to a position player? If it's now, then do it now.
