  1. It takes two of tango, so if Vlad wants to leave then there's not much the Jays could do, but I think he's the player the front office is going to give an "unreasonable" contract to (12-14 years, big money), and I think they'll be less likely to do that for Bichette. Of course I am basing that off nothing but that's the way I see it ending up. If they have to pick one or the other, it will be Vlad, and if they have to give a superstar contract out, it will be to Vlad too. Of course if they can find a way to keep both, even better.
  2. If Springer hit that ball to the warning track, it still would not have been deep enough to score Kirk from 3rd.
  3. My guess is the Jays end up keeping Vlad (contract will be enormous) and letting Bo go.
  4. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m almost looking forward to Fowler on the team if it means less Tapia.
  5. Tonight's lineup: Springer, DH Bichette, SS Guerrero, 1B Gurriel, LF Tapia, RF Kirk, CA Biggio, 2B Espinal, 3B Zimmer, CF
  6. Stick a damn needle in Conforto and bring him in already.
  7. If Biggio is unplayable in the OF, then man, just trade him at this point. Some team will be intrigued by the last name and 2019-20 numbers.
  8. Espinal playing 2B is fine, but Biggio could play LF instead of Tapia. Unless he's injured, which he could be, but haven't heard anything about it.
  9. Biggio has to be hurt. He's getting no burn despite Tapia, Zimmer, and 5th string catchers being his only competition for playing time. On a quick glance, looks like has has 2 HR in 15 AB's against Cole (only hitting .200 though).
  10. Robo umps won't be 100% but should improve consistency/accuracy, and more importantly, glitches can always be fixed. Human umpires, not so much.
  11. I mean they could send him down again after Jansen comes back to limit his days on the big league roster, but sure waiting a week (as long as Kirk starts at catcher like 90% of the time until then) is fine too. Although I forgot that Moreno didn't have much of a spring training, so yes probably better off to give him some reps in the minors to get some work in first.
  12. If Jansen has to miss a month or two, then just call up Moreno now. The Jays missed the playoffs by one game last season so they should know pretty well that every win matters. Moreno is already better than Collins and the minor league guy who played yesterday. Just do it and worry about the service time implications later.
  13. Never thought I'd miss Reese on April 12, but here we are.
  14. Yeah, Kikuchi is going to get wrecked in this game. Nothing is working. Just have to hope for some BABIP luck when the ball isn't leaving the park.
  15. Cortes' mustache alone should make the Yankees reconsider their stupid facial hair policy. Just let the man grow out a damn beard.
  16. The Yankees next year will be paying $94.5m to Stanton, Donaldson, Rizzo, DJ, and Hicks. They have no real starting catcher. Judge and Gallo are free agents. Not looking good for them.
  17. Saw that pitcher's strike out numbers in the minors and knew how this AB would end.
  18. Damn hopefully Teoscar is not injured on that play.
  19. Richards facing the s*** part of the lineup too.
  20. This is a legitimate concern. The bench right now, assuming Espinal is starting at 2B, is two OF's who can't hit, a backup catcher who can't catch or hit, and then Biggio who is versatile but only really playable at 2B. Bench depth is fairly easy to get at the deadline, so I'm not really stressing that, but Charlie with Tapia, Collins, and Zimmer at his disposal is terrifying.
  21. Yeah they could have put Hernandez or Gurriel at DH and used Biggio in the OF. Or had Jansen catch and Kirk DH. Not putting out your best lineup when everyone is healthy against a division rival is ridiculous.
  22. Zack Collins is the DH tonight. Honestly, if the Jays only had Conforto available for road games, the team would probably still be better off. Tapia, Collins, and Zimmer are going to get way too many AB's even when everyone is healthy.
  23. I’m already sick of Tapia, and he’s probably getting over 400 PA’s this year.
