  1. Holy f*** Harris. Wow. Game over.
  2. Yep. Awesome. Just trying to stay alive with 2 strike. Way out in front and fighting to stay back enough get the head on it. One handed almost. Tabby would be wet with “big strong guy” rhetoric.
  3. “Small ball” is for suckers.
  4. What a f***ing murderers row this ATL line up is. Can’t believe Riley stayed back and just golfed that out.
  5. AA team faces off 8 years later for the guy he dealt in COL Tulo Reyes deal.
  6. He raked in 21 for ATL and has a 130 bat VS RHP career. Very limited asset as you say but has value as a DH against righties. Can’t hit lefties at all. Hard to believe now that he used to play CF for LAD. Just depends on the deal.
  7. Teo was a 4 WAR player in 21 and 3 seasons in a row he was a 130 bat before ‘23. He might be a good pillow contract bounce back option. He also hit LHP pretty well this year. No idea if we would do that. Some team may offer him a 2/3 year deal he prefers and commit to playing time.
  8. Red Sox more house cleaning. Fire pitching and 3B coach.
  9. Teo and LGJ might end up on their short list...because all there is this off season is a short list, if going the FA route.
  10. You trust the Bellinger resurrection is worth what he is going to make with this weak FA class? 2022 off season FA's cost $8.5M/WAR. He was 4. With Vlad at 1B does he want to play LF on the turf? I cant see it. I think the Jays are going to have to trade or get lucky on a value signing.
  11. They didn't do Varsho any favors putting in the #4 hole to start the season. I can't imagine that helped his confidence. 22% worse bat in 23 than 22. In CF if healthy and as good on D, and is a LA bat, he is a 3-4 WAR ish player. Add some lumber in LF. Given the control & age delta, upside potential, position - I think it was a big overpay but he can add a lot of value. Thats what we all want to see in '24.
  12. Yordan Alvarez - “I put myself to go hard down the middle. That’s my mentality always. That’s my approach hit the ball hard up the middle.” Our resident hitting coach experts on the Board will be puzzled by this. The Alvarez spray chart link is telling approach vs results.
  13. True. I think we all hoped for more than a 96 wRC+ and 1.6 WAR for the season from him. He gets value from framing. I think you will see a robo ump balls and strikes appeal system by 2026 latest. That "skill" will become less valuable. So far, moreno is not a good framer. If he loses 25 lbs we think it will really help. Hope he does. I'd rather have Moreno than Kirk now at the end the day.
  14. Its possible to both like/value Varsho and realize what an overpay it was. Time will tell where it ranks on the Thor scale.
  15. Vintage ex Astro Correa out there. The hose on that throw to end the game vs Pena GB, and his bat is raking. Still can't believe Bo ran on that arm in GM 1. I know he made a great play, but it is Correa.
  16. Can’t believe I’m saying this but kind of nice to see Hicks get punted by the Yanks and resurrect himself. Don’t get me wrong. I hope they get swept. Corey S amazing Day Omar. 5 BBs. Incredible. Take what they give you, or don’t.
  17. Tabby would have been totally perplexed in his analysis this year if he was in our booth. How could a “big strong man” fall off a cliff like this?
  18. Haha. I did that yesterday too. Texas’s offense reminds me of the Jays…except all of it.
  19. I will sacrifice one goat and many chickens to increase the probability of the gods reward on this.
  20. I don't accept Atkins has no culpability for this year because 2 overweight guys and an aging Springer under performed projections. He chose not to add lumber at the deadline. This was a key window year for us and who knows who was really available behind the scenes, maybe at a premium. We'll never know. Who actually moved is not conclusive on who could have moved. Watched Pham get 4 hits last night. Pieces. In 2021 ATL added Soler who had 48 HRs and a 136 wRC+ in '19 and Pederson who is a 130 career wRC+ bat vs RHP. Rosario. Good pieces with experience/track record that were not that expensive who got hot/lucky at the right times. But you don't win without making those moves. The other examples you mention are indicative of just about every post season. Steve Pearce stands out.
  21. Moreno deal is going to haunt us for a long time. What a bomb.
  22. The rots much deeper than revolving door managers Charlie and JS will solve. That’s become more exposed today. The person who hired them both has to be accountable.
  23. Hope not. It would incredibly lucky to have the back to back season pitching health we had this season. Regardless of how intentional the signings were to target guys who post. Lots of innings on Gausman, Berrios and Bassitt. With any luck Manoah comes back and 2023 is just a bad dream.
  24. Watching Bradish pitch in BAL. Packed house and fans roaring. Tough to watch. Envious. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Atkins is roasting Schneider on a spit over the embers of our season.
  25. I pick BOTH Atkins and JS go. I think John Havok, BTS and Carlos Dangers views on how this actually happened and what kind of "leadership" this is, are on point. Unfortunately its consuming the discussion on the outcomes because it is a big deal, but I'd like to see as much attention on why we struggled to score runs all year and got 1/18 innings in the 2 games.
