  1. Whats shocking is Chappy is still 3rd on the Jays in WAR @ 3.3 Bo is at 3.4 and Gausman will finish at 5.3 unless we have to throw him again to get in.
  2. Houston is 5th in runs/game. We are 16th. For the season. Yes it happens. Anomalous series. But our offensive production for the season is not Houston’s. Whatever. We will get in and it’s going to be what it’s going to be at this point. Fingers crossed.
  3. Bro, We know. However the last 18 innings, we have 1 2B and 4 singles. Its not like when we are in the playoffs we won't be facing good pitching too.
  4. I see you are back from NB ? lol Or line to do a drive by shooting?
  5. Imagine an out of shape pitcher with under 400 MLB IP named Alek Manoah having the audacity to go after Cole on sticky stuff.
  6. I didn't say this team was mediocre. I said I've seen some mediocre teams since the 80's when I started going to Jays games, as in much worse than this one. Some of them were not as boring.
  7. Its pretty simple. We have at $93M rotation purchased entirely off the FA shelf. They have been pitching very well overall. Good f***ing thing. Gausman is a stud and the rest are 4+ FIP guys. A lot of their value comes from eating innings. Good but not elite arms ipso facto, we have to score more runs.
  8. No. This offense has struggled against much lesser arms than these two, too often. Cole chewing us up. 46 pitches through 4.
  9. That would be a good at bat for Kirk if there would no outs. Chappy has to pick them up
  10. Brandon Belt in the media asking for fan noise like "Winfield Wants Noise" in 1992, which exploded. https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/amp/brandon_belt_says_we_need_the_fans_to_be_loud_but_fans_arent_getting_excited_for_run_prevention/s1_13549_39313370 Trouble is 3 hits isn't going to get the fans making much noise. No player had to say this in 15/16 down the stretch or the playoffs. If anything it was "calm down and stop throwing beer cans". Been going to games forever and seen some mediocre teams. This team is one of the most boring Jays teams to watch overall that I've seen unfortunately. Expectations and lack of consistent offence. Just my view.
  11. Romano was the right move to the heart of the order. He is just sucking…again.
  12. Just on edge maybe off 1/4 inch. On game day. Not sure how accurate it is. Tough one not to try to foul off?
  13. At kids ball practice watching and listening on gameday. All 3 strikes in the box on gameday.
  14. Rays lost the equivalent of Bo and Gausman plus to IL and suspension. On top of that Lowe and Arozerena etc injuries. Still competitive. Team is hard to kill.
  15. I've watched that Cruz missed catch in RF 100 times or more. It wasn't an easy grab, but he lays up on his route too early and misses it by not that much. You would think with the WS on the line he would have gone all out. Catch it and you are WS champions.
  16. Thats one where both teams did well on the signings so far. Out goes Freddie and in comes Olson. Freeman making a case for HOF.
  17. I do and my eyes and brain say 100%. Wondered if anyone had seen some analysis thats definitive on incremental value. Might be tough. Its still such a commonly stated misperception "pitching and D wins in the playoffs". Smash the bombs! Just the last few years alone you think of Soler, Howie Kendrick oppo off the foul pole for 3 runs for Nats, Harper and Schwarber, Arozarena, Betts, Alvarez and Altuve etc etc.
  18. 2020 article below on how power and not necessarily pitching/D is more important in the post season. You often hear "pitching and D wins in the playoffs" and that gets extended to small ball backers. Is it a myth? I've seen a few pieces on this topic, but don't know if a really definitive analysis exists. Homers are still the key to winning in playoffs https://www.mlb.com/news/homers-are-still-the-key-to-winning-in-playoffs?partnerID=web_article-share
  19. This has been such a weird season and team to be a fan of. I thought we blew the season losing Gm 3 of the CLE series the end of August. You know its bad when Spank posts "all we have is hope". Then I thought we were done when we got swept at home by TEX. That was painful. Normally I've been watching baseball long enough to know it can go like this but its been a struggle with this team. Hopefully they can take it home now and win that PO spot - if they hit like they did today, or remotely close to it, we are great shape.
  20. BoSox and Yanks will both retool this off season. They will spend what they have to. Judge is still so elite but at 31 with recurring IL issues you have to wonder about that contract through 2031. Jesus. Stanton may be cooked at 33 but who knows. With that power he has bounced back before. He can't stay on the field though either. Torres has been a bright spot, Just don't play him at SS. They are aging to f***. They must buy A535 rub by the pallet lol. Its shocking they won 99 last yr. They need Severino and Rodon to be reliable next year. Good luck with that.
  21. Seattle storming back. Teo with 26 and a couple dem ribyees. 9-8. TEX pen cant get an out.
  22. We have seen a unicorn. A series win at the Trop. Nice bounce back today Jays.
  23. Ramirez a lot like Bo. Swings at everything and great bat to ball skills. Sprays the ball all over. Tough out.
  24. 100% JS and Walker on that. I don’t think the FO has as much “in game” input as a lot of people think. Not like they wear headphones like NFL coaches lol. I think the FO has a lot of input and feedback before and after games.
