    2/3 is pretty random and you need some luck for sure. But this game was too quintessential 2023 for my liking. Our pitching was fine and yet again we cannot deliver the runs for a W, and there is not much power on display.

    Well Teo and LGJ combined for 50 this year and we lost Semien who hit 45 in 2021. Thats quite a few changes and dingers. On top of that Vlad was 6.8 WAR that year with 48. He was a 1 WAR player in '23 and completely different in terms of value. What happened today is no anomaly. Sure, if Chappy hits hit out or it goes off the wall we score a couple more. But he didn't. He has made a lot of outs to deep parts of parks all season. Bo trying to score on Correa's arm running through the stop sign 3 down didn't help.

    Not scoring after a lead off 2B is is the tale of the '23 season so far.

    Catch probability was 93% (ok - I just made that up). But the ball held up forever and it really wasn't that tough. Nice catch. Tapia would have eaten that up!!!

    Not sure whats up with him but his sprint speed was in the 80s and over the seasons pretty steadily declined to 42nd percentile now.

    If he is struggling to throw the splitter with any command anyone is going to look fastball 3-2. He doesn’t want to walk 2 there. 97 in with movement. Just not in the enough. Tip your cap. Which sucks. We just need to score some runs.

    Just think it an imaginary world and we don't blow game 2 last year and go on to win the series vs SEA. His 2 home runs go down in Jays lore like Edwins walk off in 2016 vs the O's and Usbaldo. Lifes not fair. lol

    Teoscar: 2020 Blown out in wildcard by Rays. 2021 Misses playoffs by a game for Jays. 2022 Hits 2 bombs in Game 2 vs SEA only to see team blow 8-1 lead. 2023 Misses playoffs by a game for SEA. Glass half full he isn't toiling away in obscurity like Trout. Glass half empty his post season encounters have been pretty hollow thus far. For sure he knows getting in or not can be a razor's edge.

    Ya the bet was by Aug 1st through. He didn’t by then.

    The Hurl won the bet Varsho > LGJ on season WAR 2023, but not the kicker that he would pass LGJ by August. Varsho ends the season with 2.2 WAR and LGJ ends up with 2.1 Wall scraper. Not what we hoped.

    We have all been saying that all year and they have 101 Wins lol. So far they have held their own with the rotation and pen even sans Bautista. When he went down most predicted they would suffer from not being able to shorten games. We are about to find out if it continues, or not. Thats what I love about the playoffs. All the chatter gets eclipsed by the end game.

    I honestly don't care even with our painful Tampa history. 2/3 is so random and such a crap shoot. About all you can reasonably count on is Glasnow and Gausman will give you a decent chance to win 1. But even then, look at SEA last night and Castillo having his worst start of the season. So random. The Rays lost McClanahan, Springs and Rasmussen, Lowe and Wander. Worse than us losing Bo, Manoah, Gausman. How they are still competitive is shocking....but there is vulnerability.

    I agree this Max! He is as hard core true blue glass half full Jays fan as exists. I loathe the O's. Edwin's 2016 walk off is one of the best moments this Board ever had trolling the "O's Hangout" with their "Real life celebrity" Roy Firestone. Boxy's finest hour. I cant imagine anyone cheering for them over the Jays.

    O's closer Felix Bautista to get Tommy John surgery. Very bad luck for them but they have been cruising so far without him.

    They are scared. They try and minimize it but you can tell they way they are refinancing their houses etc. They won’t say exactly and I don’t ask. I just tell them to get help now. No good can come of it for them. Makes me grateful I have 0 interest in gambling.

    Yes. But more like 5. It’s wildfire already. I have a couple friends in their 40s putting their families finances at total risk hiding it from their wives. They started small and just got bigger into it.

    Spooky. Those 2 bats up bases drunk. Suarez is 5th in MLB HRs since like 2018. Flies under the radar. Nice pen work.
