  1. Massive insight unlike anything we've ever gotten before on this. Absolutely worth the watch. Some key points: - The Marlins were able to convince the Jays that this trade would guarantee them a playoff spot. - The Jays actually gave them a choice of Syndergaard or Nicolino. - Big part of the trade for the Marlins was getting Mathis, who they had been after for 10 years, and cutting Buck's salary, who they hated for some reason. - Bud Selig held up the trade for so long not because he was worried about the Marlins having another fire sale but because he was concerned for the Jays taking on so much money
  2. Cool
  3. Some updates: - Opt-out after Year 5 - No-trade clause - No money deferred - Essentially earning $11K per pitch (assuming 100 pitches per game, 33 starts a year)
  4. Jazzy Chisolm for Zac Gallen is probably the most interesting trade of the day so far.
  5. Starts with race-baiting, moves onto the ol' "I've been around long enough to know these things" and finishes with a nice little condescending tweet to put down an aspiring writer. He found three different ways to be a **** in three tweets. Impressive.
  6. This blockbuster definitely makes up for the Stroman trade.
  7. Shi Davidi: The Blue Jays are acquiring Thomas Hatch from Cubs for David Phelps, per industry source.
  8. I think it's hilarious how many Mets fans actually thought the Stroman trade was bad for them, but the best thing to come out of all of this was a post on the Mets subreddit titled "Live look at Brodie during trade season" with the following video:
  9. Sorry about the long time between edits. Was busy getting engaged and then attending my brother's wedding. I've just updated the main post with all of the signings, as well as every single signing bonus (including rounds 11-40). The Jays signed 29 of their 40 draft picks and also nabbed at least three reported undrafted free agents. They have $178,965‬‬ left over if they want to try and find something to do with it by the signing deadline on July 12 at 5 PM ET. The most they can sign someone for now is $303,965, before they'd have to start paying penalties.
  10. Very interesting tweet from Callis that explains why so many players sign for an even number, minus $2,500 (like in the case of the Jays signings of Manoah, Williams, Robertson, Eden, Talley, Camacho, Santiago and Dominguez). If you were to do this for every pick, it'd be a great way to save around $75K of slot space over 30 signings, which is not insignificant with how tight these numbers usually are.
  11. Already had Sloniger, forgot to put him in that post above. Also signing: 4th rounder Will Robertson: http://www.newstribune.com/news/sports/pro/story/2019/jun/05/robertson-selected-fourth-round-blue-jays/781576/ 34th rounder Luis Quinones: Would love to see some more dollar amounts get reported.
  12. 8th Rounder Angel Camacho video interview where he says Matt O'Brien called him and asked him if he'd sign for a certain amount of money. Says he's signing.
  13. Signing/Signed: Round 12 - Sam Ryan: Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Round 17 - Jared DiCesare: https://twitter.com/JDiCesa_2 Round 20 - Jimmy Robbins: Round 23 - Anders Tolherst: http://jaysprospects.com/2019/06/06/anders-tolhurst-bluejays/ Round 31 - Blake Sanderson: Round 36 - Scotty Bradley: https://twitter.com/sbrads33/status/1136759808571445250 Likely not signing: Round 30 - Noah Myers: https://www.mtcarmelregister.com/sports/pro-or-no-five-warriors-stuck-with-decisions-following-mlb/article_e0e526b8-5117-530a-9016-882b1f5cb506.html
  14. Just submitted the final update to the post after the end of the draft. This is the closest we've ever come to a 100% clear board, with only 4 players out of MLB.com's Top 200 not being drafted. The Blue Jays finished with 8 picks off the board, with two coming on Day 3 (Nate LaRue, ranked 149, round 25 and Connor Phillips, rank 188, round 35).

  16. Post updated with all Day 2 draft results! Jays add four more prospects off the list and only 40 players remain of the Top 200.
  17. Updated with complete Day 1 results. Will try to keep this going as often as I can over the next two draft days.
  18. Post updated with full Top 200, all drafted selections and blue overlay for Jays picks. To fulfill Connorp's special request, I've also made the images clickable. Hitting the MLB.com banner will take you to their top prospects page with scouting reports on all the players. Clicking on the best player available graphic itself will open the image in a new tab so it's easier to zoom in.
  19. Back from dinner, gonna be updating the list to show all Top 200 and taking off the guys who were picked.
  20. Harold Reynolds is like the handicapped kid you have to hang out with because it would be mean not to.
