  1. Yeah I mean given the choice between the guy who projects to be an average starter and the one who is actually doing it at the MLB level, the only logical choice is to go with the one who is getting it done in the games that count but on a purely theoretical/speculative level, the separation might not be that great.
  2. Hygiene is for the weak.
  3. That this is even a question worth asking says a lot about how Verlander's career has been going lately.
  4. Well to be fair, I don't think anyone that goes with the account name "banned" is really hiding from their past history. Mind you, I have some of the worst "Spanky" sense on the board so I don't actually know who this is. MJ?
  5. You're walking a pretty thin line yourself.
  6. Top starting pitchers wouldn't necessarily be less effective in a one inning appearance than dedicated one inning guys though I'm not surprised that Yost would see it that way.
  7. Yeah I didn't give much weight to proximity in my selections, hence passing on opportunities to land AA guys like Verdugo, Harold Ramirez and Tyler O'Neill.
  8. I feel somewhat vindicated seeing Eloy on there and not Verdugo. I have questioned my decision to go with the former over the later in the draft a lot.
  9. Mangoes and the original Planet of the Apes are two of the best things in life. Ang is my Mexican spirit animal.
  10. O.K. I knew I should have done some research into it but I was being very lazy.
  11. Rolen has a solid case but he won't get in. Heck, I'm not even sure if he's still on the ballot. http://www.redreporter.com/2014/9/26/6845013/scott-rolen-hall-of-fame
  12. Third base is under represented in the HOF. Assuming he keeps this up, Donaldson should make the Hall in part to correct that but that doesn't mean he will though you have to figure that generally speaking, over time, 3B will get a fairer shake as voters gain a better appreciation for the position on the defensive spectrum.
  13. I heard a theory that Bill Cosby had an impotence problem. I'm not sure how drugging people is supposed to help with that but it's not my theory.
  14. I thought it was because of Winfield accepting compensation for going in as a Padre.
  15. You could even not bang chicks at all and you won't even be forced to hand in your Y chromosome if you don't.
  16. Woudn't it actually make it easier to ignore saves? Just focus on holds since they are distributed more widely and not get punished for doing so (not that I have a problem with that since saves are f***in' stupid and a fantasy pain in the ass)?
  17. O.K. Fair enough but it seems to me like you probably wouldn't want both in the same OF. You're kind of wasting their range and limiting your offensive output.
  18. Issue with Pompey is that his best path to value is CF and that's blocked by Pillar. Neither of them are all that appealing in a corner spot. Moving Dalton in a deadline deal would make a lot of sense as both a way of sparing the thin farm and cashing in on a rare duplicate asset. That's assuming of course that you find a team whose needs line up in a way that makes such a deal mutually beneficial which isn't a given.
  19. Altuve is right up there with them. I could see the voters simply preferring to give the award to the players who hasn't won it yet. http://www.dobberbaseball.com/could-jose-altuve-win-the-american-league-mvp-award/
  20. What's even more insane is that you could make a very strong case for Trout as the MVP in every single full season he's played. He only has one trophy but he's finished in the top 2 in voting in all four of his complete seasons and could very well make it 5.
  21. Silvergunn really put me in my place. Down to 18th place, ahead of only Boxy and GeorgiaPeach. I guess the bright side is that my place in the lottery is pretty much secured now.
  22. It would be awesome if every Jays fan wore goggles today to honour Cecil.
