  1. Maybe piggy-back Strochez? Alternating starts with the other in the bullpen? A messy approach but there might be benifits for both players.
  2. What are the odds Bowden is bullshiting?
  3. My guess would something between zero and league minimum.
  4. A really dumb one? I mean those are basically the options here. Is he crazy in the psychotic sense or in the idiotic sense?
  5. Meh... I would think you could still flip him if he accepts.
  6. I heard that Atkins was not disclosing those details.
  7. I think that depends how big of an outbid it was. That being said, it's not a stretch to think that Hill was using Oakland as a launching pad to more money but he doesn't have to do that if he's offered the kind of good money he was looking for in the first place. Anyways, I get what you're saying. If he was going to take a cheap deal, it wasn't going to be from Toronto.
  8. Hill could be worth a lot to his new team if there's an extension window attached to him. Maybe that's the angle the A's are using to get more than what the q.o would bring them?
  9. He's not talking about signing him as a free agent. The tampering thing was just a joke. Gibby shoudln't be leaking stuff to the media though.
  10. Is Naylor that crazy?
  11. The fact that Hill is so damn cheap is probably a big draw for the Jays. The terms of the Grilli and Upton trades suggest that adding players without increasing payroll is a priority (I'm assuming here that what Atkins was keeping under his vest was that the Jays aren't giving Melvin any money this year).
  12. Oh no doubt. Just kind of a shame that the Jays didn't outbid the A's in the off season. Six million was a goddamn steal even with some question marks.
  13. Rich Hill? Better late than never I guess.
  14. Anyone else see irony here?
  15. Are you trying to set me up for a joke? Am I supposed to tell you that I should probably, like really seriously, consider muting you?
  16. I mean sure that's true but you know full well that you're only dealing with a pie in the sky scenario. Any actual Bautista return wouldn't be worth the hassle.
  17. It's so moot. People want to trade him because he's not as good anymore but that's also why you're unlikely to get anything of value back. You can't pine for him to be traded because of how bad he is in 2016 while expecting a Bautista 2014 return. ECJF is right. Whatever return you would get isn't even close to justifying the pushback.
  18. Killer salesmanship by Org on LoMo. One of the best fantasy hustles I've ever seen.
  19. Maybe he can catch his own knucleball? R.A. Dickey and Thole all wrapped into one.
  20. I'm a big Derrick Chung fan. He's pretty old for a minor leaguer and he'll never hit enough for the Majors but I've loved watching him play whenever I've seen him. Nice and quiet receiving, good framing, strong throwing arm. I would love to see him get a cop of coffee at some point just so he can show off his defense but that seems very unlikely now. Future outcome is probably something like bullpen catcher.
  21. Nah... I'm pretty sure signing Kratz indicates that Dickey is staying around and that the team is protecting itself in case of a Thole injury. Kratz is the new Mike Nickeas.
