Yep is was bad but the team had backed itself against the wall with the Marlins trade. They took on a bunch of salary and sacrificed a lot of future and they needed to make sure it worked so they kept adding. Truth is if they were going to do the all in thing, they should have done more. Trade Sanchez too, build a truly great team, one with an actual starting catcher and an actual starting 2B. I wasn't crazy about the direction they took but once they did, they should have been even more aggresive. They left too much to chance and they are doing it again. If the plan isn't to trade Bautista while he still has value than build around him properly. They keep half-assing it and it's getting the team nowhere.
