That being said, I don't think a Rosell Herrera goes undrafted this year. There were some many more hitters last year. Odor went in the 2nd round, Franco in the 3rd and Betts in the 5th. I don't see anything like that happening this year.

Rosell Herrera was a breakout Rockies shortstop last year. I had him on my board and kicked myself for not drafting him but as it turns out he really sucks this year which makes me feel better. In hindsight it seems like his numbers last year were greatly inflated by the fact that he was repeating a level. That may have factored in why I waffled on him and why nobody else drafted him either. I was just yanking some chain with the comparison.

But to be less flip, if you can find any kind of breakout hitter, you have to draft him. There's pitching for days. Some good ones will go undrafted but trying to find a hitter is looking for needles in a haystack.

Nice. Sounds like he could be this year's Rosell Herrera.

I'm really surprised that Reid-Foley signed so early given that he's believed to want significantly more than slot. Things must be going really well. Either everyone's just about locked up or the signability concerns were over-estimated by other teams. He really did seem on-board from the get-go. The relationship with Johnson may have given the Jays a signing edge. Can you imagine? When was the last time you heard about the Jays having a signing advantage for anyone.

Well obviously he wasn't getting past me at 14. My ideal scenario was for Sammy not to draft Tolek and for me to draft him and hope Hoffman falls at 14 but with Tolek gone, I prefered to just nab Hoffmann now. For a long time, I was poised to draft Tolek at 4 but I eventually convinced myself that I could live with Hoffman as a fall back if Tolek wasn't at 6 which freed me to take Jackson who I think is the hitter to have from this draft.

I picked Hoffman, Gibbers is up.

Now I sent him an email too in case he doesn't have his PMs set up to got to e-mail. My guess it that he's simply not around. I think it's been awhile since anyone heard from him.
