  1. No he said we'll run with the same lineup as game 2 tomorrow. That's not ambiguous.
  2. Carter played one or two games at 1B in Atlanta and other that was strictly an OF until 1996.
  3. Whatever happened to Deb Matejicka? Edit: Never Mind. I guess she works for TheWeatherNetwork now.
  4. That would be my guess as well. He's probably had better pitch selection preached to him for awhile but pitch selection comes from pitch regognition and that can only come from experience.
  5. In a way, this is probably for the best. Buehrle going to the pen would have cheapened the record. Going nine inning would be a much more fitting way to set the mark. The game is on the road so the Rays have last tick. Jays need to give Buehrle the lead or risk having the game end at 8 1/2. Having Buehrle fall just short because of lack of run support would suck balls (although if they field the A lineup, it's thankfully not terribly likely). The home field through the playoff race should keep the game relevant enough to justify using the regulars in addition to wanting to do Buehrle a solid.
  6. Gibbons said it would be exactly the same as game 2. That plus Hutch pitching could make it pretty uggly.
  7. Well Seitzer talked a big game about fixing Goins and in the end it was all wind. I wouldn't have judged Seitzer by what Goins did if Seitzer hadn't made it his pet project. In the end, Goins, ironically, blossomed outside of his tutelage. His pitch selection is better now. Good on Jacoby if he had a part in it but who really knows. For whatever reason, something just clicked.
  8. They won't replay a game on the day after the season ends unless it has playoff implications.
  9. Does that mean Fredericton is Ottawa East?
  10. That's going to make all the difference. Walking distance to the stadium (once you get across on the ferry or swim of course).
  11. No.
  12. I don't really see AA selling low on his guy but it's not like I have some terrific insight into his thought process either. If it happens, I will be (mildly) surprised, that's all.
  13. I'm not closed to trading him but I'm not optimistic about it either.
  14. Yeah I don't see the big deal with Sanchez getting a chance to start. As a pitch to contact guy he's not really suited for this short relief role they have tried to put him in anyways. There's nothing to gain by leaving him in relief. Better to try him as a starter (again).
  15. Yeah and I didn't say that did I? I'm just saying it's a positive. Not saying that it completely offsets the negative that is his fielding and I made that pretty clear.
  16. Now that his arm strength is back, I'm wondering if the team can just live with Jose in right. He's not a good OF but he makes up for that somewhat when he's making strong throws. It just seems weird to ask a superstar hitter to learn a new position when he's only under control for one year anyways. I'd be a bit more open to it if the DH spot were open and available as a fall back but since it isn't, I think keeping everyone where they are is the wisest course.
  17. No but she's better at her job.
  18. That's not the point.
  19. Coca-Cola "Classic"
  20. Kind of hilarious that AA needed Halladay to tell him to stay away. Even if Papelbon were Florence Nightingale that contract would still be garbage.
  21. I basically was saying it to agree with you. The Rays are low on my list of threats was what I was getting to.
  22. I don't really feel like I had bad luck. 1st overall in the dispersal draft is way more important to me than 1st overall in the Milb draft. Best pick in the MiLB draft won't necessarily come from 1-1 but the best pick in the dispersal draft is pretty much always 1-1 or 1-2. JF's pick is what saved my bacon but that's moot. For a pratical purposes this is the same as my pick coming first in the waiver and his coming up fourth which would have been unremarkable.
  23. If he still had relevance, he would be a candidate for the worst, maybe even a favourite but he's little more than a punch line at this point.
  24. Much more worried about Boston in the division. That young core going to be a bitch to contend with though hopefully they don't take their big leap just yet. League wide, I'm concerned with the Astros. Correa is a franchise builder.
  25. That's a very good argument. Works within the framework I proposed and I really think Sale is worthy of more recognition generally speaking. I could bump Keuchel to 2nd on my ballot.
